Tennessee strength and conditioning coach on his way out?

There's a bit of controversy -- hey, it's all the rage! -- about the status of Tennessee strength and conditioning coach Mark Smith, with ESPN citing sources that he and Lane Kiffin have "agreed to part ways" and GVX saying only that Smith is "under strict review" by Kiffin.

Whatever the case, something is up. Ghost of Neyland cites a couple of different rumors, one that there is a difference in philosophy about conditioning and another that Smith had been limiting other Tennessee teams' access to the weight room. Ghost also says that the leader to replace Smith is Aaron Ausmus, former S&C coach for Ole Miss who also worked with Kiffin and Orgeron at USC. Ausmus has connections to UT, having been on the track team in 1998.
