Best Plays of 2008: Eric Berry Flying Corkscrews Marquis Maze
Berry Corkscrews Marquis Maze
At stake: See That's Beautiful.
In-game context: Two plays after the That's Beautiful play ended with a backwards drive and a field goal, Eric Berry decided to take his frustration out on Alabama's Marquis Maze:
Impact: Well, we forced them to punt that drive, so that's something. Unfortunately, Alabama was just too good, and Tennessee was just too bad, and the Tide went on to win 29-9. Its fans treated those Tennessee faithful loyal enough to stay till the end to a rousing rendition of Rammer Jamnmer Yellow Hammer in their own stadium. That was nice.

You know you have a great player when
They do things that make respected announcers just laugh. Watching LeBron in the playoffs, 3-4 times a game he does something ridiculous and there’s nothing the color commentator can do except laugh. Blackledge on this play has that hesistation of “Who made that hit?…oh, Eric Berry. Yep, that makes sense.”
