"My top three is Florida, Tennessee and USC," the 6-3, 195 pound Scroggins said. "At this point I don't have a leader. I am camping at SC on Wednesday and Thursday then I will start sorting some things out."

I really
hate recruiting, just because of this stuff right here.
Tennessee WILL beat Georgia on the way to 9+ wins in '09!!!
Troubling quote in my opinion
Scroggins said the Gators’ system is one he feels he would be comfortable with.
“Their offense is based on who their quarterback is,” Scroggins said. “When Florida has Chris Leak it was a pro-style system that was always in the shotgun and Leak didn’t run around. So they adjust their offense to who their quarterback is.”
If Urban is in his ear and has convinced him that he will be a feature QB in his system...
…we are in trouble.
I know that Urban will modify his system to fit his QB, but all you have to do is take a look at the depth chart and current other QB recruits. If he’s going pro-style, why is he still recruiting and signing dual-threat QBs?
John Brantley is the next guy in line after Tebow, and he’s definitely not a dual threat guy. He came in the same recruiting class that Cam Newton did, and he is a dual threat guy. It’s par for the course.
They sign what they feel to be the best quarterbacks skill-wise and personality-wise for the program, and then they tailor the offense accordingly.

Brantley runs a 4.6
So it’s not exactly like he’s a statue back there.
I’m not trying to say that Meyer is offering Scroggins to keep him from UT (though I do believe this adds to Scroggins’ positives). But if Scroggins is strictly pro-style, he will have an uphill battle to get playing time in an Urban Meyer offense. Every great coach adjusts their scheme for the players they have, but they all have an underlying philosophy. In my opinion, if Scroggins goes to UF he will never take any meaningful snaps. I realize there is no way to prove what I’m saying, just like there is no way for you to say that I’m wrong. Hopefully it’s a non-issue and Scroggins comes to UT.
Meyer’s underlying philosophy has two parts: spread the field to make defenses cover all of it, and get the ball into your best playmakers’ hands as often as possible. Having a mobile quarterback helps to those ends, but it’s not required.
The national title game against Ohio State is the template for what would happen at Florida with Scroggins. Leak threw it 36 times and ran it twice (the third carry was a sack). It’s possible one of the dual threat guys would get used as a changeup as Tebow was in 2006. If Scroggins really is as good as everyone is making him out to be, they’ll find a way to play to his strengths.
