Best Plays of 2008: the eighth cut
Yes, I voted for it, but I'm sad to see EBWACC (Eric Berry's Wake Always Contains Carnage) bow out of the Best Plays of 2008 thingy. One for the road, boys!
I'm again reserving my choice for today's elimination for the comment section.
DO NOT VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE PLAY -- VOTE FOR THE ONE YOU WANT TO SEE ELIMINATED. The play with the most votes gets cut from the competition.
The remaining candidates are below the jump:
- More Score for Moore
- Eric Berry Flying Corkscrews Marquis Maze
- That's Beautiful
- Berry All the Way
- Eric Berry Clobbers Knowshon Moreno
- What a Play by Berry in the End Zone
- A Score for Moore
- The Fourth of the Half
VOTE FOR THE PLAY YOU WANT TO SEE ELIMINATED.

Alright...
My vote today goes for “A Score for Moore”…now that we’ve weeded out the plays that didn’t have an effect on the outcome, my mind resets to the gravity of the moment. This was a nice play and a welcome one at the time for Nick Stephens, but it’s still against Northern Illinois.
And I’ll again make my point that the other Denarius Moore TD should be sticking around for a long, long time as the biggest play in the most important win of the year. Can you imagine if we’d lost in Fulmer’s last game?

Good points
I’m going to have to reevaluate, and that’s going to take some time, so my vote/rationale won’t be along until later.

Okay, yeah
I went with A Score for Moore. And all I’ll say about it is . . . NIU.

I'm going with the other Moore score, but we're evaluating on different terms.
I mean, in retrospect it’d be kind of funny to have a Crompton play be the play of the year for 2008, but do we really want our first 2008 memory to be of ….well, his play last year?

But does that mean it should be eliminated now?
now with less meyton panning.

I'm just voting for the play I want to see dropped, not the "eighth cut" or thereabouts, if that makes sense.
I mean, it’s probably going to last until the last few and I’m okay with that. I’m just fundamentally opposed to the idea of Crompton being involved with any highlight of the year. This season – well, the good parts – was defined by Eric Berry.

But its Play of the Year not Play(er) of the year.
Im not saying that Crompton’s throw to Moore deserves to be play of the year, but I think its better than some of the plays out there. And that is saying something. Im not evaluating this on the player but the play itself. Just because Crompton didnt have the a standout year doesnt mean that all plays involving him should be disqualified.
The NIU game couldve been a disaster, but that play was a tide turner. It was a great pass and great catch under pressure. Compared to Eb’s “play” in the end zone, the play by Moore was executed perfectly by our team. The end zone play was a horrible pass by the opposing team that went for us. It had little to do with our execution, and more to do with the failure of the other team.
What makes that play great?
now with less meyton panning.
