SEC Media Days: conference issues credentials to two SB Nation bloggers
SEC Football Media Days next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday may not kick off the 2009 college football season, but it does serve as the first faint glimpse of the game on the horizon. Each year, hundreds of media members descend on Birmingham to interview coaches and players from every team in the SEC. Or to serve subpoenas. Whatever.
I'm especially pumped about the event this year because I'll be attending as one of those hundreds of media members. cocknfire from Team Speed Kills, who live-blogged the event while in attendance last year, is going again this year, and he and I hope to collaborate on some coverage for you. If you have any ideas, please let us know, and we'll do our best to make you proud.
Here's the schedule:

As you can see, many of these are simultaneous sessions. Obviously, I'll devote the Friday 10:30 slot to the Big Orange, the Thursday 10:30 slot to the Gators, and Wednesday to Vanderbilt and Kentucky. But what about the Alabama/Georgia and Auburn/South Carolina dilemma? What do y'all think?

I vote
For Georgia and Auburn.
Georgia because there is a larger bit of the unknown vs. what we know about Bama. Most UT fans I think are conceding the Alabama game this season, but Georgia is definitely one of the winnable ones, and I guarantee we will win, still.
Auburn because it would be interesting to get your take on the “similarities” of them and UT and where they are at in their redesign.
Tennessee WILL beat Georgia on the way to 9+ wins in '09!!!

Agreed with VolBrian…….It will be the same rhetoric out of Spurrier and Saban.
Will be interesting to hear about Auburn’s new schemes and Georgia’s new starters………

How are the two of you handling things?
Are you splitting duties or are you operating on your own?

Just make sure not to make direct eye contact with Eric Berry… Your skin might just melt

I agree with VolBrian...
Georgia and Auburn
Georgia simply because Bammer is Bammer. Auburn because it’s going to the first for the Chiz, and while Spurrier is always good for some humor and you never know if this will be his last Media Days or not, in this case I say new > old in terms of attractability.
just my two cents…and kudos to the SEC for giving some love to those of us in the blogoshpere

My preference depends on how you and cocknfire are handling things.
I would assume cnf is going to take South Carolina. I’d kinda prefer that you take Auburn so we get news from both. Similarly, if you want to split things up with Bammer/UGA, having the UT guy listen on on Bammer while the SC guy listens to UGA makes more sense than the other way around.
That having been said, if you’re independent of cnf, I like the Auburn/UGA pair better. Auburn’s situation is more interesting than SC this year because of the whole new coach thing, and I’d love to hear your perspective on the differences between Kiffin and Chizik.
I also prefer UGA to Alabama. Other than Saban getting pissed off because somebody asks how he’s going to fit within 85 (again), there’s just nothing interesting about Alabama this year. They’re good, they’re deep, and they’re the same team as last year. Georgia, on the other hand, is going to be a radically different team. Also, the UGA game will mean more, divisionally speaking, than the Alabama game.
Richt simply has a lot more to offer in this year’s presser than Saban.

Why don't you split the sessions between you & cover 'em all?
But, I agree with the consensus so far – GA & Auburn – for the reasons mentioned. I also think the coaches are more likely to be quotable – versus the normal rhetoric.
(Yeah, Maybe the ole ball coach says something good, if he gets a Kiffin opportunity.)
