Scroggins to USC, What Now?
Per KNS: HERE
Quarterback Jesse Scroggins (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) has committed to Southern California, according to a source close to his recruitment.
Distance from home was said to be the primary factor according to the source.
It will be interesting to see how this effects the recruitment of Bernettii all though i personally believe he does not fit Kiffin's system. I would expect an official announcement of Lamaison. What do you guys think? Who will be Kiffin and Co. primary target now? Should we settle for a JUCO QB or bank on bringing in a 2011 true freshman who will start?
Perhaps the bigger question is how does this effect our recruitment of other big name WRs?

Kiffin should wish Scroggins well,
ignore Brunetti, and pick up Lamaison. No sense worrying about which 18 year-old is available at this point. Recruiting cannot take another hit when we miss out on yet another QB so let’s hang it up for awhile. Keep reminding those that did receive offers that we’re still here if something happens. Hopefully, Crompton will go show his 5-star potential under Jim Chaney’s offense and be the best recruiter in the end.
It's pretty easy to see
that his mother’s family in Memphis meant very little to him in terms of where he was going to play. His immediate family is in CA. It makes sense. I respect his decision to take on the competition at USC in lieu of rock star status in Knoxville. Hopefully, it will make him stronger in the end. All the best.
My only query is whether he was going to USC regardless and was just trying to help his cousin get a ride somewhere. If so, well played sir….but not quite.
If Kiffin were to make such an offer to the 'cuz,
I’m sure it would have been contingent on Scroggins actually signing the LOI on NSD.

Holding out hope
That it’s all just a head game, I won’t believe it until I see him “pick the hat”, or at least until somebody other than GVX reports it….

FWIW
Scroggins has been super hot this spring. He’s worked the camps brilliantly. As a result, Rivals has moved him 4 spots since June to the #3 rated Pro-style QB.
True
Just making the point that he did well and was worth the effort to get him regardless of our QB issues. The offer certainly helped.
very true
didn’t mean to take away from that

Nothing yet
But, the more I look for news on him, the more QB’s I see out there. I’m not worried whatsoever that missing out on Scroggins is “make-or-break” for Kiffin. Remember, Erik Ainge was the 21st overall QB in his class and he turned out alright. They’ll find somebody and coach him up. All we really need is someone to hand it to Bryce Brown and Oku for the next three season anyway.
