For starters, Tennessee isn’t going to be as down as many think. There’s some talent there and the new coaching staff has injected some much needed enthusiasm and confidence. It could be a tight battle in The Swamp.

Politicking, I would say.
With everybody penciling the Gators in as the best team evah, they’re hedging and trying to downplay things a bit. The biggest problem the Gators face right now is that they can’t possibly exceed expectations. No matter what they do, there will be some disappointment because they won’t score eleventy-trillion points on every single opponent while holding them to a net -47 quadrillion yards of offense. Per quarter.
That said, there are some decent points there. And it was a wise article to write, as they’re bound to look prescient if only for the impossibly inflated hype.

Where that falls apart
Is in calling Georgia a national title contender. They’re not going to be a national title contender until they fire Willie Martinez.
We have no receivers, and enthusiasm doesn’t catch passes. If we won seven it would be a very good year with the personnel we have to work with and new playbooks all around.
