For SEC, tech-savvy fans might be biggest threats to media exclusivity
Michael Kruse took the time to step back, talk to some experts on the legal side of things, and look at the story from a more comprehensive view. It's a fascinating read that helps explain why the SEC felt like the policy was necessary.

Said David Hooper of the Tennessee fan site Rocky Top Talk: “They’ll be chasing shadows.”
Very nice, Hooper, very nice ;)
Full confession:
He interviewed me last Monday because of the piece I posted up that morning. It was 25 minutes where the best thing he did was followed up on some ideas of other people to interview – and then expanded that list quite considerably.
All the good stuff in that article was from other sources, which is why I linked to it. I think he quoted me out of a sense of obligation (which he didn’t have to do, but he doesn’t know me that well). So yeah, I linked to an article where I’m quoted, but that wasn’t the reason for it.
(Honest! Why don’t you believe me?!? ;-) )

We believe you, hooper. Honest. Riiiiiiight.
More seriously, if it’s an interesting article (and it was) why not link to it – regardless of whether you are involved somehow. It was a great quote.

The bit about the judge with a Gator shirt under his robe has me thinking...
I wonder if any further Gator arrests were swept under due to fan loyalties in Florida…
/conspiracy theory

That judge
Has banned Tennessee Witnesses from his stand until Lane Kiffin apologizes for his comment:
If you choose to go to the courts, you’ll be spending the rest of your life pumping gas.
