That appears to fill in the holes a little bit.
At least we know the schools involved on that trip:
Butler said the party initially drove 28 hours from Wichita to Florida, visiting Florida, Florida State, Florida A&M, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama-Birmingham, Alabama, Clark, Mississippi, Tulsa, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Accommodations, Butler said, ranged from staying at a private residence to a Comfort Inn to mid-range hotels.
And the source of the problem. Quoth Butler:
“I told them [NCAA] about how much money I asked for each kid to raise,” Butler said. "I told them the cost per kid. They said, ‘OK, we need to see bank statements.’
“I don’t want these people [donors] to put their names out there. [The primary donor] played in the NFL. I trained him, too.”
What surprises me is that Miami was not on there. With Arthur going there, Bryce’s initial commitment to them, and the Tharp situation, I figured that Miami would have been on the docket beforehand.
But still, this doesn’t come anywhere close to closing the case.
