UT athletic director tells how he and his wife were called to adopt
This has absolutely nothing to do with sports, but is worth the read. I wouldn't care what school he was AD for; the Hamiltons are commendable.

What a great story!
Headed to the Amazon on Wed to visit an orphan home so this story really hits home for me. Eddie Gran’s story is cool, too. Nice that we have some good guys in the program.
(Saw some mean comments over on GVX. Why not just celebrate somebody doing something good, even if you don’t agree with their faith-based motivation? And, that’s rhetorical. No reply needed.)

There’s a relevant parallel to the latter part of the On Rocky Top book review that Joel and Will did, where the increased personal knowledge that Clay gained made it harder to be angry towards people like Crompton. The closer Clay got to the players, the more he had to account for them as people, not just players.
Much the same probably goes for Hamilton here, especially for people who still hate him for firing Fulmer. Hamilton’s really a a very personable and down-to-earth guy, but it’s a lot easier to dislike him if you can stick to the image of the weasel-faced suit-and-power-tie behind an oak desk.

I think any UT fan who reads the book
will leave it with a better impression of Hamilton than they have now. Much the same for this story. I’m becoming more inclined to think business is what he does, not who he is.
