They're our own rating system
Instead of 1-5 stars, we have 1-10 jars. And they’re fun to tip over.
The rating system takes into account how the players are ranked by other sites and the three highest offers they turned down to come to Tennessee. So offers from Alabama, USC, and Florida are better than offers from Stanford, Mississippi State, and Nebraska.

(further clarification)
It’s a mathematically deterministic system that Joel uses. IIRC, there are no human valuations in the model. I.e., Joel does not tweak the results based on his intuition.
Right. Thanks.
It spits out some wacky results sometimes, especially with respect to guys who commit early, such as local guys, because the “desirability” factor weighs as heavy as the other factors.
