I just noticed.
Adding the ones to the end of exclamation points give us Bryce Brown’s number.
I like it!

Let's make it RTT law.
Henceforth, if a post demands exclamation requiring several repetitive punctuation marks, the jersey number of Bryce Brown will be attached to the end.
Example: Go Vols!!!!!!11
Amendment 14: The jersey number of BB can be substituted at any time with 14 or EB
Going to be watching on espn360 with the uk if game on here in lex
In other news, just accepted a job that moves me to auburn, wa, which is south of Seattle. Looks like I’m going to the Oregon game next year

Sweet!
You’ll appreciate the Pacific Time Zone, too. For the most part, sports scheduling is far, far better there. No more MNF at 9:30 at night!

Great area
You also get to roll out of bed on Sundays to catch NFL starting at 10am.
Check out Deception Pass and Whidbey Island out in the Puget Sound. So beautiful up there.
Also might want to consider taking up fly fishing- a plethora of great fishing spots within an hour’s drive of where you will be.
Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.

Two questions
- Who schedules a baby shower at 7pm on a Saturday, much less a UT gameday?
- Can you watch replays of the UT game on ESPN360.com? Since I will be missing the majority of the game?
Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.
Answers:
1a. Evil, evil people.
1b. Yes.
by David Hooper on Sep 26, 2009 3:20 PM EDT up reply actions
Dan Mullen is a moron
Way to get cute and throw it on 3rd and inches.
Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.
I'm thinking the rain may work out to our advantage.
Less incentive to throw the ball means less interceptions.
Never Again. Retire #8 NOW!
LVP for today: my computer.
Hard drive crapped out today, so I’m going to be without 360 and I’ll miss the game.
Eric Berry for sending the guy who wins the Heisman spinning 720 degrees in the air at the podium - or for intercepting it and returning it to where it rightfully belongs
Ouch.
For small consolation, the UT game wouldn’t be shown on 360 in Chattanooga anyhow.
by David Hooper on Sep 26, 2009 5:10 PM EDT up reply actions
That's true
I feel a little better. Thanks.
Anyone watching this AL/Ark game?
If so, did anyone catch Danielson’s Freudian slip when he referred to AL as Florida? I hate that guy!!!!!!11
He referred to Arkansas as Tennessee once.
But I’ve only seen a bit of it – just enough for one major gaffe.
by David Hooper on Sep 26, 2009 6:00 PM EDT up reply actions
I was pretty sure
that the Cajuns running our heavy equipment today were gonna lose their damn minds while listening to the LUS game.
Heisman alert
Jahvid Best hopes for the trophy may be done. Oregon is burning Cal up 32-3 in the 3rd. It’s not over, but I don’t imagine a comeback against a good Oregon team.
Wyoming up by 3 and punting from their 41 with 16 second left.
UNLV out of timeouts. And I’m the only one here who cares. ;-)
TCU is still alive:
That leaves 2 mid-majors with the worst of their nonconference schedule done and intact.
The biggest early difference between the Kentucky and Tennesse games against Florida:
Kentucky is playing scared. Tennessee didn’t.
Sums it up just right
I think they played themselves mentally right out of it. This Cats game is getting out of hand early (seems Ive heard that before)

This reminds me of the Rutgers game from about 5 or 6 years ago.
"I remember once talking to one guy on the Cardinals and asking him what Pujols was like as a teammate. He said something that’s really special, if you think about it. He said: "Albert is so good that you feel like you let him down when you screw up." I thought that had to be the ultimate line that could ever be said about a ballplayer. I build my baseball team around that ballplayer."

I'm fine with some of the gains the defense has given up so far.
From the sound of things, UT is completely shutting down the run and forcing Ohio to stay in the air with the ball. Given the talent we have in the backfield, that will catch up to Ohio eventually.

We're running light tonight.
Only ~240 comments. I think I’m going to leave this thread as the game thread for the second half and see how it goes. Lou isn’t carpet-bombing photos, so we should be good through 800 comments or so anyhow.

With 7 seconds on the clock, UT wisely bled off a few seconds before the timeout. The crowd was in a panic when that clock went 7 … 6 … 5 ….
Fun times.

Clearly a bit of post-Florida/pre-Auburn trap game mojo workin against us here
but good to be up at the half. I’ll wager Monte’s halftime adjustments will be stellar and our depth will wear them down in the 2nd half.
I would agree.
So far, they’ve already been reduced to a passing game designed solely to counter the pass rush. That’s not a lot to work from.
by David Hooper on Sep 26, 2009 8:56 PM EDT up reply actions
And it plays to one of our strengths
Janzen Jackson is just looking for a head to remove from someones shoulders.
So
Who seriously thought the score would be 24-17 at the half? I, for one, (mistakenly) thought it’d look more like the WKU game.
Around the SEC
Rice is playing Vandy hard, Auburn may be starting to pull away from Ball State, Florida is slaughtering the Kittys (Tebow’s concussion notwithstanding) and ASU is keeping it fairly close against UGA.
whats the uga score?

Auburn in the second quarter
Just heard John Wilkerson’s update. Twenty-three unanswered points by Auburn in the 2nd quarter.
No kidding.
And I highlighted the wrong column on that. oops

Almost dead even.
Something like 14:58 UT to 15:02 Ohio. UT dominated the 1st quarter and vice versa in the second.

Once Kentucky settled down, they made more of a game out of it.
Too bad they were down by 31 when they started to settle down.

I don't think they would have won, if the 1st hadn't happened.
But it’s been a closer game since then, for sure.
by David Hooper on Sep 26, 2009 9:04 PM EDT up reply actions
If they had gone all Raynoch on Tebow in the 1st quarter instead of the 3rd
theyd be in better shape.
I remember a game that the Vols had lost
and when the opposing team lined up for the Victory formation, Raynoch jumped over the line and nailed the QB. Loved that guy.
Whoever it was,
I enjoyed it immensely despite the loss. That guy had no quit. Did he try his hand at boxing or MMA?
ah. got it.

For all the talk of John Brantley being a drop-back passer
All I’ve seen him do is line up in the shotgun and hand the ball off.
Maybe the rest of the team doesn't have practice in a non-Tebow offense.
Or maybe his throwing arm has the flu.

The radio announcers dont' understand the rule.
They’re debating whether (a) he picked it up and then went out of bounds, or (b) if he was out of bounds and completely ineligible to pick it up.
Re: (b). If he’s standing OOB when he touches it, it’s Tennessee’s. But he can re-establish himself. They’re confusing the receiver rule.

Probably not.
But he’s definitely the worst at UT in over 20 years. Admittedly, this is exacerbated by the fact that we’ve had some freaking outstanding QBs since 1990. But even in a field of average QBs he would stick out, and not in a good way.

I didn’t expect a WKU repeat because this is a solid MAC team, but I didn’t expect this performance either. I think this will look better once we see Ohio’s W-L at the end of the year, but it’s rather meh right now.
It's entirely possible that Ohio wins out from here.
