College BlogPoll Week 4: Final Ballot
Having taken the comments on board, here is RTT's final ballot for the CBSSports College BlogPoll. As always, final is a bit of a subjective term, as any final desperate correctional measures can still be made. But this is a synthesis between the RTT Computer Rankings and the comments from the rough draft. Big notables are: moving PSU below Cincy; adding Houston and Miami (FL); removing TAMU and WVU; and demoting NCState. For those who watch Brian Cook's writeups on CBSSports.com, you'll note that this ballot has a change from last week of 174, down significantly from the 302 the week before (when we switched from the human-only ballot to the computer-led ballot). Over the next three weeks, the computer should stabilize and the deltas will be down well below 100.

Iowa is the fourth best team in the nation.
Whoa, Nellie!
Stats may justify a lofty ranking but that just does not pass the “Say it out loud” test.
Been busy lately or else I would’ve have foisted my banal interweb complaints upon you sooner.
We’re taking a chauffered SUV up to the game on Saturday (BRAGGART ALERT). I will be the guy wearing orange pants embroidered with white T’s and a growing number of whiskey stains on them while my Bammer fan wife shoots me looks of disapproval.
Hey, it’s only about 4 games a year I go to, so if I want to drink some Blanton’s while chewing some Warren County Twist, then BY GAWD I’m a-gonna do it!
GBO! Let’s whoop up on the War Spread Eagle!
Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.
You know, I was surprised that nobody made more of a deal of Iowa before.
It was mentioned, but not vociferously. I looked over their schedule and, so far, they actually have played one of the strongest slates of teams in the first four weeks. They’ve also performed pretty decently during that time – nothing mind-blowing, but no real weaknesses either.
Right now, the BlogPoll appears destined to give Iowa an 11 or 12 which, when considering what they’ve done, is probably a little unfair. Over time, other teams will probably earn the right to be ranked ahead of them, but I hate polling by momentum. I could see sliding them below Boise State for a week, but that’s kinda like saying that the Boise win over Oregon was more impressive than the Iowa win over Penn State. I’m not sure.
But I’ll think about it. It’s not out of the question.

Here's the Iowa issue in a nutshell:
Other than Penn State, the one image everyone has of Iowa is needing two blocked kicks to beat Northern Iowa. That’s #4?
Eric Berry for sending the guy who wins the Heisman spinning 720 degrees in the air at the podium - or for intercepting it and returning it to where it rightfully belongs
