First half summary:
5 penalties
4 fumbles
1 interception
And we’re still winning 28-0. I think that means that the run of play is more dominant than you can shake a pig at. Let’s keep with the dominance and stop with the mistakes. Maybe we can beat Florida’s spread. :-p

Don't stop...believin'
I wouldn’t guarantee we can stop Florida, but from what I see, I think it’s safe to say we won’t roll over either.
The D is looking awesome!

I'm not a big proponent of going for it on 4th down in that situation

A little pressure on the D, relying on them says a lot

Why not?
It’s 28-0. We get some practice in 4th down situations in a live game.
Also, Crompton might’ve had a TD with a decent pass on 3rd down. One of his few poor throws.

Just wait for the other blogs around SB Nation to
downplay our effort today
Why not go for it, Ware?
We need the practice. Better to practice it when we don’t need it than when it’s critical.

Is our D just looking that great, or their Offense just anemic?

Our D
It was WKU, but they haven’t really made a whole ton of mistakes. We’ve just had three guys in the backfield on every play.
by Incipient_Senescence on Sep 5, 2009 2:17 PM EDT up reply actions
D is looking good
I can’t tell if they’re anemic or not…they haven’t had a chance to breathe. Our D is smothering the Line of Scrimmage
Also, a testament to the D
You haven’t heard EB’s name called much. Big ups to the front 7
UGH!!!
Poor Crompton. Looking good, but his stats are going to be tarnished by these lucky tips
Lucky?
I mean, he needs to see the DL too.
Eric Berry for sending the guy who wins the Heisman spinning 720 degrees in the air at the podium - or for intercepting it and returning it to where it rightfully belongs

Tipped balls are bad
It’s hard to put that one on Crompton though. That guy was really in no position to make a play. He made a tremendous effort just to nick it.

the O line needs to keep those guys DOWN

Yes. That is the case
Although on this one, the guy who tipped it started a backpedal off the line. He basically jumped backwards with his arms up and back and managed to nick the ball going by.

To think if Fulmer was still here
that big Bryce Brown run would be sitting on the bench behind three or four upperclassmen.

do you think stephens will play at all this game?
I just wonder how long the starters will stay in. Although I have to say I am loving this
Living in Alabama is like living 50 years in the past, they are still just as racist, just as educated, the state constitution forbids any kind of public transportation, and all they can talk about is Bear Bryant
Did you see that?
There was a man keying on the QB. I love it.
INTERCEPTION!!!!!!
EB would’ve scored, but I’ll take it.

To be realistic...
will anybody be stupid enough to throw the ball anywhere near EB?
Sept. 20 Headline: "Eric Berry furthers Heisman campaign. Collects 2 INTs, one for TD and takes Tim Tebow out of game in 3rd quarter."
ERIC BERRY 4 HEISMAN
I think any number of SEC teams
will try. Tebow will for no other reason than trying to win the Heisman.
Not that it matters, he seems to be able to teleport across the field as needed.
WKU did it on the first drive
They haven’t done it since
How about...
Stevens to Moore for old times sake….Richardson works too
My apologies
I do that all the time. Tell his dad I’m sorry
Yeah
Not a good throw. He probably could’ve run up the middle with more success.

Man I am so happy with what I am seeing today!
Sure, it’s just Western Kentucky, but the Vols aren’t playing down to their level like they so often used to.
And hope people finally give Jonathan Crompton a chance!
This is what I have waited a year for, and it feels good!

The reason Crompton looked good,
besides the 11 freshman playing on the other side, is they’re giving him the play call with plenty of time left to look over the Defense

Wow.
I’m really impressed and excited to see that game. It seems like the first time in a while that we played our best against a lesser opponent.
Obviously, the turnovers are going to need to improve and we got some sacks that wouldn’t have been sacks 2 weeks from now, but wow our freshmen looked fantastic and the Defense looks even better than last year. Wow is really all else I can say.
