Around the SB Nation: still two games left edition
- There are still two games to play this three-day weekend: Rutgers v. Cincinnati and FSU v. Miami. Tomahawk Nation previews the headliner between the Seminoles and the Hurricanes, and Protect R Turf weighs in on what Rutgers must do to win. Meanwhile, Miami blog The 7th Floor interviews Billy Corben, who's working on an upcoming ESPN film about the Hurricanes.
- Red Cup Rebellion has some interesting observations about the Rebels' victory over the Memphis Tigers yesterday.
- Manic Kyle is on hiatus until further notice after the Georgia Bulldogs lost 24-10 to the Oklahoma St. Cowboys.
- BYU blog Vanquish the Foe recaps the Cougars' big win over Oklahoma, while Sooner blog Crimson and Cream Machine is left to summarize the debacle, wonder about Sam Bradford's shoulder injury, and . . . wonder still more about Sam Bradford's shoulder injury.

Red Cup Rebellion isn't very classy
I can’t imagine RTT writing a piece like that – full of profanity and low-brow insults to the other team (high-brow insults, yes, but none of that other cheap-shot stuff).
btw, RCR, if you are only beating Memphis by 10 late in the game, you are indeed overrated. Or you are vastly underperforming. Take your pick. I am fine with either answer. (see high-brow insult. no profanity needed).
I almost think that's how they're trying to wite, though.
For better or worse, that’s where they’ve thrown their lot in. I can kind of see where they’re coming from (writing about Memphis sports with contempt is going to meet with my acceptance anyway), but the preemptive strikes against Arkansas and Miss State were mildly entertaining for all the wrong reasons. (And if you’re typically complaining about the refs, that may be a sign you need to adjust your expectations.)
But hey, I’m glad to see Ole Miss rolled some garbage TDs so they’ll look better when people only look at the final score. These things matter, and things like outgaining an overmatched opponent by only 70 yards aren’t a big deal.
Eric Berry for sending the guy who wins the Heisman spinning 720 degrees in the air at the podium - or for intercepting it and returning it to where it rightfully belongs

Did I have a couple back in Oxford later tonight? Absolutely.
I’d have to drink too if I was forced to go back to Oxford, MS.
Im glad somebody else found RCR’s recap reprehensible.

I loved the tips on how to sneak alcohol into the game
probably the most useless piece of advice ever posted… I mean, Ole Miss fans are outstanding at getting intoxicated in public. Sneaking booze in – experts by the time they hit jr high…
Wow, ACC is not having a good first week
Also, I havent watched a Seminoles game in awhile, when did Bowden pretty much just quit coaching? It looks like all his assistants do the calling and he doesnt even wear a headset. Just dialing it in it seems and looking for that W record.

It's been about 5 years I'd say.
It looked like he spent most of this game fantasizing about creative and painful ways to kill Jimbo Fisher.
For me, I hate both teams and wish there was some way for both to lose
but I’ll always take the underdog, and an ACC loss.
Bowden just sitting on the sidelines and not even calling plays is about the sorriest thing I’ve seen in awhile, seriously just retire and save the college some $$. Ridiculous.

Beyond the fact that they;re in Florida, I have no particular animosity towards FSU.
Given a choice between watching a press conference featuring Bowden or one featuring, oh, say, Mark RIcht, I’ll watch Bowden every time. He’s not Orgeron-level entertainment, but he’s right up there.
It's been longer than that.
I graduated from FSU in ’96 and Richt and Andrews were doing all the heavy lifting during my entire time there.
Lou Brock loves Lamp.
The Georgia blog comments are schadenfreude-ally delicious.
Does anyone still truly believe that RIcht’s seat isn’t a mite bit on the warm side this year?
Georgia - the year of the Fulmer flashback
which is a shame because I like Richt personally. He does good things for the kids; he has integrity; but, the fans are tired of him and will run him out on a rail. It’s sad.
