Dude Who Wrote Worst Column Ever Surprised It's Considered Worst Column Ever - SB Nation
This is not hyperbole. Seriously, if you ever tire of oddball journalism, let this remind you that there really is no bottom to the well.
This will blow. your. mind.

My favorite:
“Next week, Mark Whicker laments that victims of 9/11 haven’t gotten to watch a single episode of Lost.”

Did you catch his fauxpology and his 'clarification' with MDS?
It’s nice to know that this was entirely his idea, and he stands by it.

Better and better, yeah.
He’s all, “I had no idea it would be received this way!”, which, THAT’S THE PROBLEM, no?

And these are the guys that we bloggers can't hold a candle to...

Yeah
It’ll be interesting to see if his colleagues like Tim Brando criticize him for it like they would have if a blogger had done it.

Don't get me wrong; there are plenty of bloggers out there who would have had no problem writing something like that.
Free speech is often cheap speech.
But to consider it the exclusive domain of bloggers (and likewise, quality reporting the exclusive domain of reporters) is, at its very best, lazy.

I don't watch Olbermann, but this guy HAS to be his "worst person in the world"...
The column ended with:
“And ballplayers, who always invent the slang no matter what ESPN would have you believe, came up with an expression for a home run that you might appreciate.
Congratulations, Jaycee. You left the yard."
Good lord, is that terrible. How could he have possibly thought that would go over well?
Lou Brock loves Lamp.
I was just pasting that in here.
Congratulations, Jaycee. You left the yard.
Aaaaand my brain just hemorrhaged.

That's the thing
The author comes across in his “defense” of the article like “What, I was just talking about sports!” It’s like he’s completely oblivious that things like “You left the yard” might be offensive.

To me, that phrase has abduction-undertones to it when used this way
I don’t know if anyone else perceived it like me, but I immediately thought that when I read it, so I’m guessing if I picked it up that quickly I couldnt be the only one

You know
We should really try to get this guy together with Nick Saban (loss to Lafayette worse than Pearl Harbor) and Kellen Winslow Jr. (we all know why) and see what kind of black hole of offensive politically incorrect stuff we could create……
