[EDIT - Hooper] It was a mattress lit on fire. The fumes from the mattress were evidently pretty noxious.

I was on campus for a lot of this… that reeking, choking stench Swiperboy’s referring to was actually a mattress torched by some rowdy students.
And yes, it did stink.
Somebody forgot to wash their sheets
Before they lit the 3 inch foam mattress on fire.
Last time I saw one of those bad boys burn it was in the Faculty lot across from the stadium after we beat LSU in ’05.
