Initially shocked and rocked by coach Lane Kiffin's decision Tuesday to bolt Tennessee for USC, Tyler Bray gathered himself and made a career decision in a couple of hours -- he'll remain a Volunteer.
"That's unconditional," the quarterback's father, Jeff, said during a 30-minute telephone interview after midnight (EST) today from Tennessee.
. . . .
Key to the decision, the father said, was a bond his son had already established with seven other freshman players who had also left high school early. And all but one was certain to remain.

Awesome
Honestly, if they’d bolt at this point, I’m not sure I want them anyway.
You're full of crap.
i kind of expected this
after they said it was those freshman who had Orgeron’s call on speakerphone so that everyone could hear it.
Hopefully this will be the beginning
of a great story for Tyler Bray one day after his time at UT has passed.
thank you.
your committment to your committment is appreciated, Tyler.
Wasn't he pretty much locked in after practicing?
I thought I read that. But I guess he could have sat out a year if he really didn’t want to stay.
Good news for you guys, definitely.
What you're seeing is team spirit. It's like the Holy Spirit, but more powerful.

Not until 12:01 of the day classes start.
EE rules are rather underdeveloped.

even if they participated in bowl practices? Maybe I heard wrong, but I heard he practiced with you guys.

yeah
what i heard is that if they practiced then they were members of the team, and would have to sit out for a year if they were granted a transfer
That's what Hamilton
is intimating
Lane Kiffin can eat a *self delete* and choke on it!

This is great news.
This is one hole that was going to be hard to fill if Bray decided to go elsewhere. Glad you decided to remain a Tennessee Vol Tyler.
One other note...
If Monte Kiffin was as good a father as Tyler Bray’s father clearly is, then Lane might have honored his commitment.

Character
It would be great if NONE of the players left UT—sending Kiffin a message to what true commitment and character is all about. How could they trust him anyway? It’s like having an affair with a married person and expecting them to be faithful to you! I don’t know why they would want to follow that type of “leadership”?
This is really exciting.
And not just because Bray is a very good recruit. I love seeing this kind of commitment from our players. It really makes me happy to see this and I’m already a big fan of Tyler Bray.
Big bright spot from the aftermath of this garbage move.
Outsider here
I’m glad to see your recruits have more character than your departing coach(es) have. Now that you’re not on our (UCLA’s) schedule, I hope you go undefeated. I never could understand why a classy place with classy fans would have hired that lowlife in the first place. Be happy that he’s gone without having done more damage than he did.
