Leach to the Vols
I would like to make a recommendation to Vol fans across the country. Mike Leach would make a great coach at Tennessee. In his 10 seasons at TTU he has become an Icon at our school. He has been to a bowl game every season since he came to our school. He has vaulted the graduation rate at Texas Tech to the top of the conference. He did all of this while consistently having one of the most productive passing attacks in the history of college football. Our Administration has used the national media as a platform to run this great coach out of Lubbock. A large segment of Tech supporters and boosters are outraged by this and have started taking action to clear coach Leach's name as well as hold our administration accountable for their actions. Team Leach on facebook has grown to over 61,000 members in 2 weeks. Billboards have been secured, commercials on local tv have been paid for, and a huge rally has been planed on the Texas Tech Campus for tomorrow at 1 o'clock. If you guys would like to know a little more about this great coach and the loyalties between himself and the Tech fans go to www.teamleach.org or visit Team Leach on facebook. It is astounding and awe inspiring to see what these great fans have done in 2 short weeks with a social media site and a great love for a quirky coach that inspired a fan base across the country to demand answers about what really went down. One thing is for sure, it had nothing to do with a spoiled rich kid being sent to stand in the corner. We know Leach's days are over in Lubbock but he could do great things for you in Tennessee with the Tradition and national recruiting power you guys have earned over the years. Our peaceful rally will be available tomorrow on live streaming video on the sites listed below. Your coach left you high and dry. Our administration did the same to us. Sounds like a natural fit to me.
Thanks for listening

I understand your points
And I agree that there’s no wrongdoing on Leach’s part. However, I have two problems with him.
1. He has a PR cloud surrounding him, deserved or not. We don’t need that after Kiffin.
2. He has a rep for being a terrible recruiter. Is that accurate?

You have to look at what Leach did with 3rd tier talent.
If you’re a Texas high school football player and you are good at all, you go to UT or OU (maybe A&M if your parents raised you that way). Leach turned Michael Crabtree, a lightly recruited high school quarterback, in to a back to back Biletnikoff Award winning receiver. He had back to back to back 5,000 yard passing quarterbacks. Whether you believe that is because of his gimmicky offense or his ability to find diamonds in the rough is immaterial. Love him or hate him, the guy knows what he’s doing.

Red Raider here….
1) Leach has a lawsuit that is bound to get ugly—don’t think you guys want to deal with that.
2) Leach does not recruit as well as he should—btw, Crabtree was recruited by Lincoln Riley and it helped Crab to have an accurate QB in Graham Harrell No way Crab puts up those numbers with current QB’s Potts or Sheffield.
3) You better get a top line Def. Coordiator or you will be watching 51-49 type games.
I’m all pro Leach but just don’t think it’s a great fit at this time.

DA VOLS
I had a dream about that last night. The Vols won the Super Bowl and then I climbed Mt Everest
I disagree
It did take Leach a while to break into alot of recruiting circles but Lubbock Texas is an extremely tough place to recruit. Its windy, its flat, there are dust storms, feed lots and it is in the middle of no where. And I love Lubbock. Leach did have a very respectable class coming in 2010 for Tech. I believe that he would have no problem recruiting at Tennessee. Leach did more with less than just about anyone in the country. On the point about the allegations, the national news media has twisted this story from the beginning. The kids dad works for the top sports network in the country. His dad thought he should be playing more. The reporting was biased and one sided and what else would you expect with a conflict of intrest like this. Leach will get his day in court and probally rich in the process. The sad thing is the university is trying to let the media tell the story and hide behind soverign immunity so the real story won’t come out. Any way Raider nation has lost its captain and we wish Tennesse the best of luck in your search. Here’s to Leach locking Kiffin in a shed for a few days.

I've been hanging out at Double-T nation
I know the story. I’m just saying that we can’t make a hire unpopular in the media. Not after Kiffin and after the guns with the b-ball team. Fair or not, we need a hire that will save a little face.

exactly
Leach has always done more with less. That’s why he is respected all around the Big XII. The only recruiting mistake Leach ever made was bringing in Adam James.

haha
yes please kiffin needs a little shed-locking
I understand
My last post wasn’t really pointed at you Incipient but was meant to edjucate the Vol’s fans who have not followed the real story that the university is sweeping under the ol rug.
It would be a risky hire but also high reward. Im just sayin that tech fans associate the pirate flag with Tech as much as the double T. All because Leach loves Pirates. Just seems like you guys could use a little fan, coach, team unity like that right now. And a great football mind.

B.T.W.
Really, if Kiffin comes through Lubbock on his way to Cali, we have a shed for him in a feed lot, in a dust storm, in the middle of no where. After a couple of days of that our administration could throw him under the buss. Then we could get the James gang and BSPN to slander him on national television and then we will send his sorry butt down the road to UselessSC

Haha best two lines ive ever seen on a sign out on a post.
Also: Im beginning to think raider6060 is Leach. Trying to muster up the support to bring this man in. ;)
To be honest, and its been said already, Leach might be a great, high-reward hire but its just not going to happen. Last year, yes, but not with Hamilton’s job on the line this year.
Also my fear is his ability to get what we need out of the defense in the SEC. It would be interesting to see what he could get out of top-tier recruits though, since he has proven to do more with less.

Wish I Was
Also, I think that Leach’s lack of success on defense can be explained more by the high powered spread passing attacks in the confrence and the lack of talent. You can scheme production on offense but it is much more difficult on D. On defense talent will dominate scheme any time anywhere.
