Today begins a rough three-game stretch for the Lady Vols that may very well decide the SEC regular season title. The Ladies start at home with #22 Vanderbilt, then hit the road for road games against #6 Georgia and #12 LSU.
The key in this matchup will be Tennessee's size versus Vanderbilt's experience. Tennessee is considerably taller than their opponents in this game and has a huge edge in the interior, where Kelley Cain, Taber Spani, and Glory Johnson have recently been granted land under the Homestead Act. Vanderbilt's hope lies in turnovers: the Lady Vols have been prone to mishandling the ball in some games, and Vanderbilt knows how to take advantage of miscues.
This game rides on the play of the Lady Vols. If they stay sharp and work hard, they should win this one. If they take Vanderbilt for granted or look ahead to their road games, they could find themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard in a hurry.
