The Mark Richt article made we wonder one thing:
will Georgia fans begin to downplay Vince Dooley’s accomplishments now that they’re linked via ancestry to the head coach at Tennessee?
They flipped out when Vince said he would quietly root for his son when UT plays at UGA
If anyone thought we have lost sight of reality, one just needs to point south to Athens.
And yes, in just about every Dooley thread since the hiring they have begun to downplay his accomplishments.

Could you point me to some of those threads?
I seem to have missed them. I can’t recall anyone ever having downplayed Vince Dooley’s achievements, either as a head coach or as an athletic director.
Likewise, I never saw anyone “flip out” or “lose sight of reality.” Some of us, including me, simply and reasonably said that, if he wishes to root for his son’s team when the Volunteers play in Sanford Stadium, it would be appropriate for him to secure a pass on the visitors’ sideline, sit in the visitors’ section, or watch the game at home rather than cheer for the opposing team in a University of Georgia luxury box.
We wish Derek Dooley well, to the extent that his interests do not conflict with ours. He is a class act, just like his father, and he knows his football. I hope the preceding sentences reassure you as to our ability to maintain sight of reality. It isn’t as though we reacted to the news by demonstrating outside of the athletic building and chanting Vince’s home address or anything.

Consider myself gotten over
I just answered a question, asked a question, and attempted to clear up an apparent misapprehension.
I regret it if that offended you.
Go 'Dawgs!
I'd like you to link to . . .
these threads as well. I don’t know how I missed them. And I think it will be safe to say we’ve lost touch with reality when we start blocking the exits, pushing to rename sewage treatment plants and burning mattresses. Ok, a mattress.
All sarcasm aside, the Dooley hire is a good one. La Tech plays a horrible road schedule because of their conference affiliation. And it’s hard to recruit to Ruston. Not to mention how hard it is to play Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada and Hawaii in conference with the guys you can get to Ruston. The fact that Dooley got to an Independence Bowl and won it is a very good sign. Plus the guy’s a great recruiter with ties to places where Tennessee needs to recruit well. That won’t hurt.
