I was about to say "wow, get over Kiffin!"
then I saw that the guy was a UT DC candidate. How serious of a candidate was he though, if he is going to USC? Because Monty is the DC there. He’ll be what? LB coach for them?
What you're seeing is team spirit. It's like the Holy Spirit, but more powerful.

Pretty Serious
He had made comments about being interested in the position. And Raheem Morris had talked to him about leaving. I guess leaving for USC, not UT.
"We've got weapons, we've still got weapons... That's terrible, I apologize."

I think this indicates that Dooley cut him from consideration
no way you turn down an offer to be a DC at this level for a position coach – even though he has very strong ties out there. I think Dooley has found his guy and they are staying mum on it.
Why would they do that? Until contract deets are figured out?
Just wondering because there are other position coaches that are waiting on this hire before they come aboard – and we need as many coaches as we can get at this moment

Probably waiting on finalization - not of the contract, but of the guy's certainty.
Contracts will take a long time to finalize, and most of the new coaches will work on Memos of Understanding for a few months. That’s pretty normal.
But the AD has really put the clamps down on information about the hiring process recently. I have a feeling that, even if they’re 99.2% certain on this, they won’t say a word until 100%. Beyond the negative press it’s gotten for UT, whoever comes in won’t want to be known as the umpteenth option for UT.

DC for Detroit Lions 0-16 season.
Dodged a bullet (if Dooley really even offered him the job, which I doubt)
Ha! Man I hate SC and Lame Kiffin.
