Available Football Scholarships
After the commitment of three players today, it seems like we only have a few spots open, and more potential recruits than available slots. I heard we can sign up to 30, but only 27 are allowed to enroll, and currently we have 22 commitments. Does anyone know the status of this? Any potential greyshirts?

Only 22 commits?
I’m hearing numbers as high as 25, although it seems like 24 is the number most people are working with (maybe because they’re all ignoring Williams, who is going to Ole Miss).
The names I’ve heard thrown out as possible academic casualties: Dixon, Stanley, Rogers, Loften, and Brown (and Jones if he signs with us, but I don’t know that he will). Sucks that four of the five rumored to have grade issues were guys that were supposed to have immediate impact.

i don't know the #
but some of those guys won’t qualify? does the staff have an idea of who those guys are? so they can prepare for that? obviously some of these guys wont make it
Speaking of Ole Miss
Didn’t they have like 30 signees last NSD?

I think it was closer to 40 or something crazy like that
Yeah, 37, and thus the new rule.

Yep
Another example of how timing has really hurt the Vols this season.

I don't think the four you mentioned all have academic issues.
For whatever it’s worth.
I have no idea whether or not they actually have academic issues
Just saying that those are the ones whose names have been thrown around. I would have a hard time, for instance, seeing Rogers as a grade issue guy, but the name has been bandied about.
