Poole to Kiffin: ‘No, sir, I don’t want to go in.’
It is interesting to me that reaction to this (based on what I've seen on Twitter and comments on Rucker's Facebook page) is almost universally in support of Poole and what he did last year. I am sure at least part of that is due to how great Poole has been this year, but I wonder how much of it is because of the "Lane Kiffin is EVIL!" sentiment around here. I would think that if a player did this to any other coach the fans would at least question it, if not rip him for it.

Its a valid point
Timing is everything in this instance though.
I remember hearing grumblings when it happened last year but nothing explicit and on the record. If this came out then, yes I’m sure he would have been ripped for it.
A year later, the fact that Tauren has been a model teammate, citizen and a great player for Tennessee has earned him the benefit of a doubt in this case. The fact that other players have gone on record in support of what Tauren did helps also.
