Around SBN: Now They've Screwed Spurs, UEFA Willing To Review Rule

Evans has missed two practices in the last two weeks, according to Wes Rucker (source above).

Your starting secondary on Saturday: redshirt freshman Eric Gordon & recently converted safety Prentiss Waggner at corner, former baseball player Brent Brewer at strong safety...and Janzen Jackson. Wouldn't you go five wide against us just to see what we'd do?

Rumor mill

Is that its a Responsibility issue

Not sure how much water this holds, but thats the only direct reason I have seen come across the wire today

Ugh.

I’m pretty sure that at this point our dime package would entail a tackling dummy at strong safety.

No joke, I'm really not sure we have a dime package

Anthony Anderson is still around back there somewhere…Marsalis has turf toe…Tyler Wolf is fun to cheer for, but that’s about it. After those guys, we’re getting into the “never played a meaningful down” group, which Brewer was a member of until very recently.

Our dime will involve a linebacker covering the tight end

and a nickel package for the rest. Most likely, the defensive end would be told to chip the tight end (or closest resemblance to a TE). Heck, maybe flat-out engage the guy in a ‘pass rush / pass block’ like mirage.

But seriously, hopefully UT has such a strong lead at that point that we can roll the dice and Big Blitz the QB, hoping to force a decision before the routes open up. I normally hate the Big Blitz, but that might be the easiest solution: just flatten the QB every time they line up in a 5-wide. Pretty soon, the QB will be asking for a backfield blocker.
