Stop... No longer dizzy. It now hurts. Hoops Rankings.

What a difference a week makes.  The rankings look a lot different - and rightfully so.  Weaknesses exposed on offense against Charlotte (the one with the losing record) and weaknesses exposed on defense against Oakland (the one that's not in California).

This is sort of reminiscent of beating #1 Memphis in Memphis to become #1 - only to lose to Vandy in the gym with the oughta-be-illegal, cheap, gimmicky bench configuration.  The difference is that Vandy was good and we knew it was coming.   This just hurts.

The biggest implosion was on the latest Yahoo Users Poll at Rivals.com down from #1 to #42.  That's barely in the "also receiving votes" category.

Realtimerpi has the Vols falling with double down arrows from #1 to #14.  The only reason we didn't get 3 down arrows?  There's no room on the chart.

StatSheet.com dropped us from #1 to #13.  Kinder and gentler.  And, no arrows.

#7 down to #30 at Sagarin

A fairly humane drop from #15 down to #25 at KenPom.com ?

Gary Parrish had us at #3.  We'll still be in his Top 25 and One.  Maybe.

UPDATE: We actually rolled in at #19.  Not Sweet Sixteen, but not outta the picture.

Speaking of ALSO RECEIVING VOTES - anyone want to bet that the Vols will remain in the Top 25 with the AP or the ESPN Coaches Poll?  For double the money, anyone want to bet that Gary Parrish uses someone's old vote on the Vols as cannon fodder for his Poll Attacks piece?

UPDATE: Jeff Goodman's AP vote over at Yardbarker dropped us from 4th to 18th.  But, Memphis dropped out completely.  Warms my heart.  Now if only Coach Cal...
