We---and I certainly include myself among that "we"---are worse sports, and worse people, because of the ways in which we are taking advantage of these astonishing technological advances. As the world grows smaller, seemingly, so do we. That has to stop.
This is not a posting about Tennessee fans; this is a posting about all of us, and about the common ground we share, and about the fact that we all ought to strive to share the common ground that is our love of sport rather than the common ground that is our shared conviction that our guys are perfect and everyone else is awful. We need not wait for the other fellow to be civil first. We should instead lead by example rather than needle one another childishly on Twitter. Let every man sweep in front of his own door, and the whole world will be clean.

My hope
is that this is another step in the positive direction of everyone — Vol fans and Vol rivals — simply forgetting about Lane Kiffin and 2009 and moving forward.
Let’s do our part.

Fair enough
It’s a new day, and no one who spends his fall Saturdays in Athens can doubt that a Dooley knows his football and conducts himself with class.
Good luck next fall. I hope y’all go 11-1.

For a split second, I thought they were talking about Gino Torretta.
(fun fact: call Auriemma that around UConn fans and watch them explode.)

Sorry Joel
I don’t think I can help you here. Maybe because of the well-documented way I feel about all things Dawwwwg, but here we go.
This post is just another passive-aggressive shot at the Vols that devolves into an love fest of people who don’t have enough passion for college football to hate their rivals. I’m sorry, but I hate Georgia and I wish nothing but bad things for Georgia. As I’ve said many times before, try living on the border of North Georgia and you’ll get a first hand glimpse of the false superiority and general historical ignorance many of their fans have.
As far as this post goes, by saying Rambo should not have said anything publicly (which implies he should have privately?), T. allows himself to indulge in some ridicule of Da’Rick for being a “high-schooler” and for Da’Rick mentioning Rambo getting knocked out. In other words, it’s more of the “you suck, but we do too” bs.
With that said, I do have some begrudging respect for TKK as his writing style is smooth and coherent as opposed to some other SEC blogs, but he’s still a rival fan, and he still wishes ill upon Tennessee just as I do on Georgia no matter how many warm and fuzzy preambles he includes in related posts.
As I said in the original thread, does anyone recall Eric Berry, Rico McCoy, or Big Dan saying anything about Marlon Brown? Nope. And the main reason is I’m sure they forgot his name as soon as February 5th rolled around last year.
You want to say something constructive T? How ’bout, “hey Bacarri, stop acting like a fan and conduct yourself like the marquee player you claim to be”.
And I’m sorry T. but as I was typing this you posted that you wish Tennessee goes 11-1 next season. That’s false and we both know it. You would like nothing more than Tennessee to go 0-12 just as I would like Georgia to do the same.

regardless of who T Kyle King is, and what his intentions are
this kind of post coming from a Georgia fan is somewhat irritating to me, considering they are some of the most vile fans i’ve encountered in the SEC
oh, and i don't think it was technology that made georgia fans that way

Georgia does seem to be near the dregs
From an informal poll of SEC fans I’ve met, the ranking of the most obnoxious fanbases tends to look like this:
1. LSU
2. Georgia
3. Florida
And actually, none of those schools have the position of “arch-rival” to people I’ve talked to, since Tech and FSU aren’t in the SEC. Anyways, I do think that TKK is being genuine, and I think he makes an excellent point, but I understand that it’s hard to believe given the notably high quantity of bad apples in the group he represents.

It's because they have a reason to gloat - even if I dislike them for it
Georgia fans just have no reason to be the way they are.

I don't have as much experience with LSU fans.
I know they are rowdy, but the ones I’ve come across have been pretty likable. Georgia fans are just bitter.

I also have very little experience with LSU fans
It’s interesting that they always get named, because pretty much everyone I’ve talked to about it follows an SEC East team (and none follow Florida), so they don’t even play LSU on a yearly basis.
It makes me happy to hear that Tennessee fans are thought of as extremely hospitable. I tend to like Carolina fans as well.

LSU fans
before the “Meachem can’t overcome the Mustang Package” game, my attempts at hospitality were rebuffed with spite. Cheering during opponent injuries was lacking in class. I have found LSU fans to be my least favorites
I'm just amazed that ignoring this kind of stuff hasn't caught on more.
It’s done for attention; why enable it, anyway?

What I keep in mind when I put on the Orange:
When I was a sophomore at UT I had some friends who went to the game in Gainesville. They came back with a cell phone video of an elderly man in orange and white, with a walker, walking down what they told me was fraternity row in Gainesville. In the video, what looked like Florida students, walked up and stuck their chewing gum in his hair. I could list less extreme examples for each of the other 11 schools in the SEC, but I know we’ve all had our experiences…
All I can do is act the way my parents taught me to act, and remember that even though I really want to see teams like Georgia and Florida crushed and humiliated, acting like a jerk just reflects poorly on myself and my Alma Mater. I never want anybody to see my behavior and feel the disgust that I felt for the University of Florida when I watched that video.
That counts for any public forum, be it Neyland Stadium, RTT, or any other blog, website, or social network.
