If Kentucky were playing half as hard as we are, their talent alone would have had them up by 20.
They are the most dominating team, in stretches, that I’ve seen in a decade.

but UT has almost (except the TOs) played the perfect game plan. Zone D, Frustrated Cousins, etc.

I’m impressed with their talent, but they can’t seem to defend the outside shot at all.
The first time they run into a team that gets hot from 3, they are in DEEP trouble.
This eases much of the tension from the Vanderbilt loss

We just don’t have the talent to keep up with Kentucky without someone playing out of their mind… particularly with Chism hurt.
We stayed in the game through sheer will and discipline, but it was just a matter of time.

a decent overall effort
I expected about as much. They have so much more talent than us, and playing at home, I think we represented well.
I know I'm proud of the team...
and if they play like they did for the first 3/4 of the game against anyone else on the schedule, we win.
Except Kansas
Those are the two teams where you need to go 40. Well we’re 1/2. Let’s make it 2/3 in a couple weeks. But first, the rest of the East awaits: Georgia, @USC, @Florida. Take ’em down.

I think a 5-1 finish should be our goal
And it’s definitely attainable. 4-2 might still get us a 4 seed if we can beat LSU and SECW#2 in the tournament.

We're building a program here...
I know it’s been a few years now, but if we want to compete for titles in the one and done era… we have to be able to land some of them… and we’re just now able to recruit them credibly.

Better than I expected
But it’s always frustrating to lose a game where we had a legitimate shot to win. At 6-4 with a loss to UK and 2 losses to Vandy, it’s hard to see us being anything other than 3rd in the East assuming we can hold off Florida and USC. Just as this week was a big measuring stick, I think next week is huge. We really need to return the favor to UGA and find a way to contain Downey again.
I don't think any of us are under the illusion of winning the SECT...
but we can compete…
We do miss Tyler Smith horribly though.

Even banged up, Tennessee showed why they are capable of beating anyone. UK was 100%, and you guys were dinged up pretty good.
