Josh McNeil
I tried asking this on another post but it was long and I don't think anybody saw it.
Do any of you know what's going on with Josh McNeil? Is he pursuing a sixth year of eligibility?
I'm just assuming that if he is pursuing it, then the decision hasn't been made, or we would have heard about it, but I thought he was going to try to play again. I just can't find any google stories that directly confirm that.

Good Question
I’d like an official update on Austin Rogers as well.
My understanding is that he decided not to come back.
Unfortunately, this isn’t an official update, but I remember hearing something about him not pursuing the sixth year anymore.

Austin Rogers
got married and just wants to move forward with his life, so he didn’t pursue another year.

I have not heard anything on him at all.
I would guess that a sixth year is out of the question, given just how badly his knee is damaged. And the sixth year of eligibility is usually only given out follwing an injury that sidelines a player for two consecutive years, effectively treating those two recovery years as only one redshirt.
This is the story that made me really wonder. But its from September, 2009, and on reading it further it sounds unlikely that he was planning to pursue the redshirt, but the way he talks makes me feel like it woulnd’t be out of the question.
Then again, that Cincinatti QB from a few seasons ago who had his arm crushed didn’t get a medical redshirt either, seems like theyre tough to get.
Hmm, the URL disappeared.
You can google “Football Worth the Pain Josh McNeil” and find it easly.

On Rocky Top
That is too bad. I read Clay Travis’s book finally and what a great guy McNeil is! For players like him, I am glad it seems we might have a coaching staff that truly cares more for the players than last year.
