Is really fantastic. I’ve been out of the country twice during March Madness (’07: Japan, ’08: England) and in both cases I got to watch my Vols play! I was working in Japan in ’07 when we made that Sweet 16 run, took a “sick day” to watch us play Ohio St…and then I really was sick after the game.

I have lots of upsets later
(especially since my bracket always has Tennessee winning the whole thing), but I only picked five upsets in the first round, and my two biggest ones are here right off the bat with Florida/BYU and Old Dominion/Notre Dame. My bracket is going to die early and be buried late.

Okay...
finally broke down a entered a bracket. Alright, so I’m going to change my name to Homer. Someone has to have the courage of their convictions! I have ESPN “Insider”, so here’s some analysis of my brackets by the “experts”
In the first round…Surprise!..They don’t like my pick of the home team, and had this to say:
#6 Tennessee. Sometimes the NCAA doesn’t do a great job seeding every team. The Volunteers struggle at shooting 3-pointers and they appear to be ripe for an upset before the second round.
Burn!…So they’re saying, yeah Dawn, the committee screwed up Tennessee’s seed, it should have been lower! On to the second round….
#6 Tennessee. We don’t see a Cinderella story here. The Volunteers struggle at shooting 3-pointers and even as a #6 seed, their survival odds are lower than people think.
Do we need to spell it out for you, Dawn? Your team sucks! Ha, I say, I’ll pick’em to advance! What say you, ESPN dudes?
#6 Tennessee. Hmmm…interesting pick here. The Volunteers are a big risk. They struggle at shooting 3-pointers and the potential reward just doesn’t seem worth it.
Hey, woman, don’t you get it? Your team’s 3-point shooting dooms you. Yeah, sure. BTW, the potential reward it sooo worth it. Hit me with your next shot, big boys, I’m going with the Big Orange!
Oh, they have nothing to say to that, huh?
Finally, I insist on the championship game..So, one final shot at my boys:
#6 Tennessee
The Volunteers rank #18 in defense, and also count ball handling as a relative strength. However, they struggle at shooting 3-pointers, where they rank in the bottom 50% of all teams.
With that said, we think the Volunteers are the least likely of the four #6 seeds to get to the championship game. Their 0.8% odds to survive this round rank #30 out of the 65 teams in this year’s field.
Not only does your team deserve it’s 6 seed, young lady, it’s worse than all the other 6 seeds…Not that it has anything to do with your team’s current position on your bracket, but we just thought we would throw it in there, for emphasis

They’ve also committed 7 turnovers and have fewer offensive and defensive rebounds and only 2 assists on 8 made baskets. On the other end the Miners are doing their dirty work inside the 3-point line at 15-24 from inside the arc, but are only 1-9 (11%) from beyond it.
