doesn’t think anything is official yet, but doesn’t look good
Now that my initial shock has worn off...
Big deal. We still got Oku, Poole, Williams, and that new one Dooley got, Neal. BB didn’t want to be here for Tennessee apparently so, don’t let Gate 21 hit you on the way out Bryce!

Good to note
Big opportunity for Oku to step up
This
I agree with.

Agree completely. Would have liked to have him, but if he came here for USC of the East then this isn’t the place for him. Both parties will be better off in the long run.

Couldn't have said it better.
Yes, it sucks but if he’s not here for the orange, then let him be. No sense in Dooley begging for him to stay when he wasn’t all that flashy last year and he doesn’t want to be here.
And the Spring practice for the other TBs got a little more hungry.
Life is tough, you’re going to get knocked down a bunch, and the quicker you learn to deal with how you react to it and dust your britches off and move forward, then the quicker you’re going to lead to happiness. -Coach Dooley

I seem to be in the minority...
… but I don’t find this to be a good thing or a “Who cares?” thing. I thought he was pretty good. And we’re going to need all the RBs we can get, considering we have no offensive line.
Lou Brock loves Lamp.
I'm with you.
He was a good player who never came close to getting in trouble. Those are the guys we need. Not knowing the details of the departure, I’m not going to say it was a mistake for him or for UT, but it would have been better if the situation had worked out between him and UT. Best wishes to him, and here’s hoping we don’t know the difference.

That's what's so weird for me
He seems like a good kid, and we seem to have taken a step in a positive-character direction, and I’m disappointed that he’s not taking it with us. There could be much more to it than that, of course, so I’m reserving judgment. But I think that’s the primary source of my potential disappointment.

I could not disagree more.
Let’s not make him out to be the first person to ever have personal problems. How many of these kids deal with divorce, sick parents and siblings, multiple children to support, etc and NOT squander a free education and the chance to play a game with the support of hundreds of thousands.
Sorry Bryce, we got lots of HB’s, if you come back great, if not, nice knowing you.
I’m not saying this is a good thing, but it’s definitely a sign of psychological weakness IMO and comparatively speaking to the players that deal with documented tragedies and don’t say a peep. I won’t miss him if he leaves.

Hello ladies. Look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me.
Not very smart
waste a year and sit out a year if he transfers. Dumb &dumber. oh well its his little red wagon.

The thing is about this situation
Is that it doesn’t sound like it’s a “I don’t like you coach, neener!” sort of deal; it sounds like it’s something fairly serious, so I really do wish him the best. He ran hard for us and the least we can do is show support when he might very well need it.

My view is mixed
Lets face it, these guys are training for the Pro’s to some extent or another.
So on one hand I see where VolBrian is coming from. He needs to find a way to manage his life, his personal issues and move out smartly. The rest of us do it every day, and we won’t make close to what these guys could potentially when it comes their time.
Bryce is a highly skilled player who has a bright future. If he can’t do the above, have a great day see you in the Mid West brackets.
That said I think I’m also with Joel when I say that Tennessee helped him a long. You don’t just walk away from folks who assist you and put you on a path to success. He has the opportunity to be a starting RB and make some great numbers in a program that has accepted him in the hardest football conference in the country. You can’t buy that kind of attention.
These young men are borderline celebrities.
I have to think there is something else driving him to make this choice. He’s gotten his head right. he’s gotten his plays right. The team has gotten right. Which leavea underlying question of “Why?”
We’ll probably never know. But in the mean time it’s his choice to make, and we have to respect it. Whether we like it or we don’t.
That said we supported him becoming a Vol, we supported him as a Vol. I have to believe, as i said, that its something serious motivating him to make this move. I say we support him in his move as well.
Or at least that’s what I’d like to think a Volunteer would do.

Rumor and innuendo
I have picked up from various tweets and what i read from Dooley’s statements is that Kiffin basically promised him the starting spot to get his committment and never lived up to it. See BB being inn on the goal line every play last season trying to get “keep him happy” TD’s like the very first one of the season. Dooley refuses to annoit him the next coming, so he’s unhappy. That’s MY read on the whole thing and does not evoke any sympathy on my behalf.
On the other hand, if he is truly having personal problems not related to ego or arrogance, too bad for him, but welcome to life young man.
Everyone remembers how we crucified BJ Coleman for leaving because he wasn’t given an opportunity, in his mind, to be the man. Well, at least he was honest and up front about it. I have a suspicioun (sp?) that BB is doing the same thing.

Hello ladies. Look at your man, now back to me, now back at your man, now back to me. Sadly, he isn't me.
I HIGHLY doubt that.
Let’s face it: when he was in, Bryce Brown definately was better than Oku. Poole didn’t get as many chances, but Brown played better than him too. The job was Brown’s to lose, and Kiffin said all of last year the only thing preventing Brown from having a great year was Hardesty’s. Not to mention early on Bryce commented that he was very eager to share the competition with Oku — AND when he signed he was 3rd string at best at the RB spot.

I believe it
Why else did Kiffin keep running Brown in on the goal line carries? It seemed very Varsity Blues-ish (minus the racism) to me. Hardesty did most of the work and then Brown got the score.
It actually makes sense to me now.
Official MCM Hater!
Fire Jeff Fisher.
Fair points
But, that’s all talk tbh, or at least to me it is. BJ said the same stuff for a long time and Kiffin was saying the same thing about him having a shot to be the guy.

Let's be honest
Do you think BJ could do a better job than Crompton did?
