For any Buckeye fans who wander in...

Someone posted that Rocky Top was written by Kentuckians, and that it eats us up… that was a new one to me so I double checked.

Mr. Bryant was born in Georgia, Mrs. Bryant in Wisconsin… they were living in Hendersonville, TN when they wrote the song.

Whoever told you that was full of crap.

I could at least watch this. Next round? Not as sure.

Absolutely

Although it still costs 170 a month during the winter to have the heat off (that’s just to have hot water for a shower).

Don't worry.

He was talking about how Ohio State lost the game immediately after.

Guy over at volnation had a good point....

strange, I know. How many times did J.P. foul on a 3-point shot? Crazy irony there.

by ChattVol on Mar 26, 2010 10:32 PM EDT reply actions

Loved Rucker's tweet on this:
Pearl’s a genius. The Vols fouled 3-point shooters all season to prepare for this moment. They knew what not to do. (I keed.)

seriously

my celebration was delayed by 2-3 seconds, because I was sure there had to be a whistle given that the two players involved were Turner and Prince.

by Will Shelton on Mar 26, 2010 10:33 PM EDT up reply actions

I thought the same

My wife was yelling and I just stood there waiting…..waiting for the call. Once the win was secure, I went to work on the laptop.

by ChattVol on Mar 26, 2010 10:35 PM EDT up reply actions

My eyes immediately went to the ref.

Once I didn’t see any movement, I knew we had it.

i thought the same thing

Its hard to hear the buzzer or whistles in here, and when I saw the refs hand go up, I thought they were calling a foul. I’m pretty sure I blacked out right then

I love this team.

Bruce Pearl is officially the best MENs basketball coach in the history of Tennessee.

So if both teams are complaining about the ref,

does that mean the game was refereed fairly?

by Chris Pendley on Mar 26, 2010 10:44 PM EDT up reply actions

A little disappointed to say the least.

I’m glad I’m not a ref. They never make the right calls. Both teams get charged with bad foul calls. I’m proud to be on a blog that doesn’t allow such behavior….although I applaud their passion for their squad.

by ChattVol on Mar 26, 2010 10:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Upon further reflection, I want Northern Iowa.

Izzo as a HC scares me, and I want a HC who might do things like abandon a 1-3-1 zone defense that stymied the Vols whenever they went to it. Izzo wouldn’t do that.

We've got some offense threatening to break out in this game now

both of these late games haven’t been viewer-friendly yet…let’s see if UNI gets hot

Eh, they're kids.

A stink was raised when Crosby did it after Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals; I’m inclined to give them a pass.

by David Hooper on Mar 26, 2010 11:25 PM EDT up reply actions

We dominated the tar out of the paint.

Offensive boards, points in the paint, whatever you want to call it. Can we do it again on Sunday? Maybe; I just hope Chism has something left.

UNI looks like they have a little trouble with the big stage

At least at the line. MSU, on the other hand, has been clutch. What team do we want again? The one that wins, eh, Hooper?

by Incipient_Senescence on Mar 26, 2010 11:40 PM EDT reply actions

Ballgame We got the Spartans

It's simple Cubs in the spring and summer, Vols in the fall and winter.

by cubvol on Mar 26, 2010 11:43 PM EDT reply actions

Well, I think this one's over

Tennessee/Michigan State in the Elite Eight. I think we can keep the underdog thing rolling, right?

by Incipient_Senescence on Mar 26, 2010 11:43 PM EDT reply actions

Here's what I hope:

Michigan State got their whole post-Lucas emotional lift tonight

by Will Shelton on Mar 26, 2010 11:44 PM EDT reply actions

Izzo is a good coach

And MSU plays tight D. But I like our D against their offense. And Pajamas can keep bending time and space. And Chism is Chism.

by Incipient_Senescence on Mar 26, 2010 11:44 PM EDT reply actions

No FGs in 10 minutes?

Note to team: if you lose the next game, just be sure it’s not because you beat yourself.

by David Hooper on Mar 26, 2010 11:45 PM EDT reply actions

I truthfully would rather play them

If we played UNI, we would all the sudden become the favorite. UNI also had ALOT of fans there tonight and they were very loud. We should have more fans than MSU I think.

I think so, too.

And we’ve had a 3-hour head start on ticket scalp sales.

by David Hooper on Mar 26, 2010 11:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Plus It should be a closer drive

for our fans that after watching tonight want to go up on Sunday. I am pretty sure Michigan to St. Louis is a 8-12 hour drive.

Over/Under?

Number of times Uncle Verne and R-tard Gary mention “the January 1st incident resulting in Coach Bruce Pearl dismissing Tyler Smith from the team”, “MSU player injuries”, or anything pertaining to the “loss of their star player” during Sunday’s telecast?

I’m going to take the over on 6.5.

I hate how the other 2 stories are not mentioned at all

Living in Alabama is like living 50 years in the past, they are still just as racist, just as educated, the state constitution forbids any kind of public transportation, and all they can talk about is Bear Bryant
