Letter From Coach Dooley
A friend of mine received a letter from Coach Dooley a few days ago. My friend played defensive back for Coach Battle in the early 70's, and was quick to point out that our previous Coach never reached out to former players like Coach Dooley has. The letter doesn't contain anything groundbreaking, but I have attached it for your perusal.
Pretty neat stuff, even though the quality is not very good (VolBrian already got on to me for that). SORRY.
Enjoy:

Are we sure he's trying to sign his own name?
If you showed me that signature out of context and asked me to guess whose it was, I’d come up with lots of options that don’t even start with D.
Sarcasm aside, well done.
Well, he was a lawyer once.
Maybe he bought into that whole ’don’t have a forgeable signature’ deal.

he is consistent with the non-D D though
its evident in both first and last name

Nice to Know
I don’t understand what is wrong for this kind of thing to be in an interview with the press in addition to this letter……..I guess we are going to have to get used to the secretive approach.
"Everything we're going to do is going to be done with a foundation of integrity with every aspect of the program. We're going to represent Tennessee with class on and off the field." Coach Derek Dooley
we do now have a coach who is a bit of a product from the saban-school
doesnt surprise me that hes quieter than lane, but then again everyone is quiet compared to lane. By this time last year we had already gone through the recruiting-violation-gate between Kiff and Meyer, a spurrier-kiffin jab fest, stealing several asst. coaches (thats ok with me), and who was it, Alshon Jeffrey (?), with the gas-pumping-fiasco (later rescinded).
So yeah, its quiet, but not a distraction either.

Well...
A lot of this same stuff was talked about by Dooley when he spoke at the Tip-Off luncheon a week or so back, and that’s been available….
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." A. Bartlett Giamatti
