Best spots to tailgate?

So, in years past I have always had access to stay on campus by crashing at a friend's dorm room or something similar. In years past we always just wandered around to other's tailgates before heading into the game. Last year was the first year that we didn't have such good fortune and resorted to bar-hopping on the strip before each home game. That got expensive...quick! Don't wan t to really do that again and would prefer to just simply have our own tailgate. So, the question is...Where is the best spot to tailgate? Obviously it would be great to have access to G10 or some other official parking area, but, not really realistic for me. Ideally we would want to have a place that it would be feasible to leave a vehicle overnight and go fetch it on Sunday, so, nowhere that we would be blocking others in. Would want enough room to play corn-hole & throw football around as well. Don't really mind if there is a good size walk to Neyland and obviously the cheaper it is to park the better. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Unless you have a parking pass on campus

you will have the best luck somewhere in the fort.

There is a parking lot behind White Ave Biology Annex that is good. It’s on the corner of Agee and Clinch. It’s not a long walk at all. You just have to get there super early to get a spot.

I'm a big fan of the spot in front of Sam's Party Store.

It’s at the corner of James Agee and Clinch. I don’t remember how much it is “rent” a spot. We usually get there around 8:30-9 for a 12 or even a 3:30ish game and I think it’s like $50.

It’s only a couple of blocks from the stadium, & there are big crowds around there….really a fun environment. …..not to mention you can use the restroom & restock on beer & mixers just across the street.

I also like the spots in front of Hess Hall or on Religious Row (Francis St).
