Marcus Jackson Commits To Tennessee
Vero Beach offensive guard Marcus Jackson (6'2", 315) committed to Tennessee during the second quarter of tonight's Under Armour All-America game. Jackson chose the Vols over offers from all three big Florida schools, Michigan State, South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and South Florida. He's only a three-star according to both Rivals and Scout, but he's the 13th-best guard per Rivals and the 15th-best guard per Scout, and he was playing in this game, so he's got to be good.
A former Miami commit, Jackson said he chose the Vols because he wanted to be part of the family culture Derek Dooley is creating. Here's one of his recruiting videos:
Jackson is a great addition to the team. Tennessee will be much better off along the offensive line in 2011 than it was in 2010 because of the experience that three talented true freshmen acquired, but the unit is still fairly shallow and there's plenty of room on the two deep.

Apparently, his strength is run blocking
We could use some of that. If he’s good enough, he might be able to jump in the rotation immediately in obvious rushing downs. Also, being an EE (which I don’t think Joel mentioned) is awesome.

Being an EE is huge news...
less time for him to change his mind and plenty of practice and strength development. Welcome to Knoxville young man!!
