Third Saturday in October
Are the Vols playing home against Alabama on October 20 2012 just curious since I've made hotel reservations in Knoxville on that weekend. I live in New Jersey and have been to Knoxville 4x and now it is a yearly thing with us . It is in my opinion the best place to be on a fall weekend in the future Im hoping the Vols can make an appearence in these parts but for now its traveling once a year thanks

It's a bit up in the air due to conference realignment.
Here’s a good resource for schedules:

They do a good job of keeping up with all FBS for several years into the future. Right now, the Alabama game isn’t listed. I’d also take the rest of the schedule with a grain of salt until the realignment changes are in place.
My fall break is that weekend, and I really, really, really hope we've got Bama that weekend
but, as Hooper said, realignment might throw a wrench into things. We’ll see what happens.

Tennessee Vols Biggest Rival
After coming down to Knoxville tfor the Georgia game his past October I began surveying random Vols fans on whta they thought of as being the Vols biggest rivals in football .The anwers I received were very revealing. I asked about 20 folks and the replies were split in half .Most of the older folks said very surely it was Alabama while many of the younger people said Florida still a few peoplestated they hated South Carolina (‘The Spurrier effect") As for schools thaey did’nt mind the majority of those asked said Georgia (the Dooley effect). In my opinion it still is Bama .Growing up in New York back in the 60’s I still can remember that famous SI Cover of 1968 or 169 stating Tennessee beats Alabama . To me that was te springboard of becoming a Vols fan for life and at the same time a Bama hater ater 40plus years I truly believe there s no better person north and east of Tennessee who bleeds Orange and White as I do ………..Go Vols……Rocky "Damn " Top
