Things I want to see:

More Ariel. Specifically, to see how far along she is.

More Baugh, especially off the dribble.

More successful free throws.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 6:45 PM EST reply actions

This is hilarious.

The video feed shows the Chicken Bucket video, but without the audio. Right now, I’m watching arrows leaving TBA while listening to Sports Animal ads.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 6:47 PM EST reply actions

Starters:

Simmons, Spani, Massengale(!!), Johnson, and Stricklen.

Baugh is not playing tonight (Tuesday evening class), so scratch my one want-to-see.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:00 PM EST reply actions

LVs play almost all their games on Sunday-Thursday.

Baugh’s a grad student, so evening classes are more common.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:02 PM EST up reply actions

I'm a grad student here, my last class ends at 6:30 on tuesdays and thursdays.

It’s not uncommon.

"Do the Titans have a miracle left in them in what has been a magical season to this point? If they do, they need it now. Christie kicks it high and short. Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25; he dishes it back to Wycheck; he throws it across the field to Dyson. 30, 40, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 5, endzone...touchdown, Titans! There are no flags on the field! It's a miracle! Tennessee has pulled a miracle! A miracle for the Titans!"

by TennesseeTyrants on Nov 8, 2011 9:49 PM EST up reply actions

I had that pain as well.

Hers seems to be a one-day only deal because it won’t interfere with the Thursday games.

by David Hooper on Nov 9, 2011 12:01 AM EST up reply actions

Mickey, you silly.

All the scoring has been threes except for the scoring that hasn’t.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:06 PM EST reply actions

Great play by Massengale

to recognize the only possible outlet and when it’s coming. Too easy.

by Chris Pendley on Nov 8, 2011 7:08 PM EST reply actions

7 rebounds for each team (2O/5D for both).

That’s not going to last if the LVs value their eardrums.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:18 PM EST reply actions

A/TO of 3.

Better say that while it’s there.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:19 PM EST reply actions

Burdick is not fast.

Not really sure how to put that, but it’s weird to see her on the perimeter.

by Chris Pendley on Nov 8, 2011 7:22 PM EST reply actions

We're on a 10-11 turnover pace this game.

Is that where we should be? Preseason, but overmatching the opponent.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:28 PM EST reply actions

Yup.

I’ll be curious to see if we’re this aggressive in the season. A lot of this has to be practice, but if the team can handle it and if the rotation stays deep enough, why not?

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:32 PM EST up reply actions

It'll settle on 8-9, I think.

Same problem we had last year, I think. Massengale, Simmons, Spani, Manning, Burdick, Harrison, Glory, Stricklen. Who am I missing? Kamiko, when she comes back?

by Chris Pendley on Nov 8, 2011 7:34 PM EST up reply actions

Right.

Honestly, Harrison’s probably the first to go out of that rotation. Maybe Burdick.

by Chris Pendley on Nov 8, 2011 7:37 PM EST up reply actions

Depends on the opponent, I think.

Harrison’s better at the post and would make for a very tough rotation for a team with only one real post. Burdick is surprisingly good on the perimeter for somebody who looks so goofy when moving.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:40 PM EST up reply actions

Manning being Manning

right after Simmons being Simmons.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:30 PM EST reply actions

So I was in a meeting today. They had pictures on the walls of former committee chairs.

I’ve been there before, and I’m always distracted by one picture with some woman wearing the world’s largest lapels.

Pat Summitt is wearing that suit tonight, I swear.

by Chris Pendley on Nov 8, 2011 7:42 PM EST reply actions

51-16 at the half. Probably about on par.

Lots of highlights, but a lot of things to tune up.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:49 PM EST reply actions

Starting lineup?

Massengale, Simmons, Baugh, Stricklen, and Spani would make sense, but would leave Glory on the bench.

Glory instead of Spani?

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:52 PM EST reply actions

Massengale, Spani, Stricklen, Glory, Baugh.

I wonder if not starting would help Simmons focus, but I think I’d swap between Spani or Simmons.

by Chris Pendley on Nov 8, 2011 7:54 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah.

Like last year, there are 7 I would be completely comfortable starting.

by David Hooper on Nov 8, 2011 7:59 PM EST up reply actions

Absolutely she is.

She has an outside shot at the WNBA purely by being that 6th person. Go hard or go home.

19 assists to 17 turnovers.

Hrm. Knew that 3 A/TO wouldn’t last.

Ups: free throws, tempo, full court press, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$pani (approximately)

Downs: ball control, Simmons tunnel vision (SimmonsVision™ ),

Also up: the three freshmen. They’ll work quite nicely, thank you very much.

A couple notes:

Toledo has turned the ball over 6 times and will likely win if they get the onside kick.

WMU ran 80 plays in 20 minutes of game time.

We’re close to 1500 total yards in the game.

where the clock stops inside of 2 minutes if you don’t advance the ball.

about 1440 total yards in the game. yeeeeeeeeeesh.
