So it's come to this: the regular season is over, bowl bids are starting to be awarded, and the only remaining question is if Oklahoma State did enough to jump Alabama. Anything else is just details.
1. LSU
2. Oklahoma State
3. Alabama
4. Oregon
5. Boise State
6. Stanford
7. Arkansas
8. Wisconsin
9. Oklahoma
10. Michigan State
11. South Carolina
12. Georgia
13. Kansas State
14. Baylor
15. Michigan
16. Houston
17. TCU
18. Clemson
19. Virginia Tech
20. Arkansas State
21. Nebraska
22. Toledo
23. Southern Miss
24. Tulsa
25. Missouri
Notes below the jump, but remember, nothing beyond 2 matters.
Look, this is twelve kinds of hot mess. I haven't been in favor of a rematch since the idea has been floated out there, and if Alabama has an issue with it, they had an opportunity to dethrone the regular season champions at home and couldn't seal the deal. I'd have a bit more sympathy if that game was in Baton Rouge, but Oklahoma State's wins (Oklahoma, Kansas State, Baylor, Tulsa, Texas, TAMU) are much better than Alabama's (Arkansas, Penn State, Florida, Auburn, and nervous laughter).
The rest of it, as always, is a mess. Wisconsin and Michigan State played one heck of a game again, and I'm inclined to reward them for that. K-State gets to ride up the polls a bit on Baylor's coattails, South Carolina goes ahead of UGA again, Houston and Virginia Tech get spiked. And yes, ranking TCU at 17 (just outside the auto-bid) is intentional.
