Dallas Thomas was just in one of the rooms via the SEC Sports live stream. He did a good job; likeable guy. He didn’t really say anything provocative, but he did say that the way Heistand was training the o-line, the games were “cake.” He also mentioned “getting nasty with it,” referring to his preferred style of blocking, and he said no one was hanging their heads about the way last season ended, but that he was making sure no one forgot the feeling.

Somebody needs to turn down that mic — you could hear every single breath and throat noise Malik made. Unless he’s just loud that way.
Jackson said, among other things, that the “heat is terrible” here, that that makes practice harder here, and that he is very happy with the decision he made to come to Tennessee, etc.

I'm not receiving ESPNU yet
So unless it comes on the live internet stream, we’re relying on you.

ESPNU's recruiting analyst was asked how good the Vols can be this year
bowl eligible, he says. Matt Stinchcomb says we were an eight win team last year and a .500 team this year. Good to know.
By my count, we were 8-7 last year, so Stinchcomb was right.

This is the joke he was making
just unusual to hear someone be so convinced that we’re going to be worse this year
by Will Shelton on Jul 21, 2011 1:22 PM EDT up reply actions
Interesting thing is, Tennessee will not be a .500 team.
If they go 6-6, they’ll play in a bowl, which guarantees a non-.500 finish.

I think Dooley is taking advantage of the fact that he's last
not making anyone else late, can take his time
In the meantime
the new Ab Roller Evolution can be turned over to become Punishing Pushups. #espnucommercials
Do we really need the Herschel retrospective, ESPNU?

Is he still eligible
under the Gordon Ely-Kelso Exception? It’s not like Georgia’s backfield looks like our secondary from last year or anything.

ESPNU hating on our schedule.
That is, they’re hating on how difficult it is (specifically the SEC West draw).

It is freaking difficult.

Looked at this last night
What are the odds that we play three undefeated Top 10 teams in a row in October:
LSU – Oregon (Dallas), Northwestern State, at MSU, at West Virginia, Kentucky, Florida
Alabama – Kent State, at Penn State, North Texas, Arkansas, at Florida, Vandy, at Ole Miss
South Carolina – East Carolina, at Georgia, Navy, Vandy, Auburn, Kentucky, at MSU

So how many last questions will Dooley have to answer in this presser?
Over/under of 2.5.

Spent an inordinate amount of team educating the team about what Tennessee stands for
Jason Witten spoke to the team last week
Question on coaching Bray's instincts from what sounded like Holly
Coaching Bray like parenting – Bray still in his infant stages in QB play. As long as he continues to improve, we’ll all be impressed with his production.
I thought that was her.
Also, good question (certainly better than the “what do you think of Slive?” question that’s up now).

Fourth question about recruting head to head vs. James Franklin
I hope he says, “He’s still the coach at Vanderbilt, right?”
On raising academic requirements
“When is the lowest good enough?” – football taking some heat because they have the lowest APR among all sports in the SEC, even though they meet APR requirements. This is the, “the lowest GPA in med school is still a doctor” argument.
Question about the merger of the athletic departments at UT
“Joan (Cronan) has been pheomenal.” Defined three or four things she could do before the new AD was hired, she has done a great job.

Says he gets a kick out of the notion that it's the worst thing in the world for a player to lose his scholarship
when academic scholarships get taken away all the time. “It’s a contract. It’s fair.” Says the market will take care of itself: if a coach is taking away scholarships left and right, that’ll take care of itself in recruiting. Well said.

Another question from Clay about giving the NCAA subpoena power
Says it’s not fair for him to offer solutions – “Even the guys that do hae subpoena power screw it up all the time, let’s don’t forget that.”
Cut another 25k in recruiting this year
Ducks the Kiffin comparison – "We didn’t have any money at Louisiana Tech. My instinct was, “cut money”. Then I realized we had 100 million dollars, and I’m going, “Why did I just do that?”"

Dooley: “I almost got out of here…8-7 in postgame handshakes last year, a remarkable feat.”
And I think he pointed to another last question, too.
Come on, just one more last question after that. I’m looking at you, Clay.

Seems like we shouldn’t expect anything until at least October, at earliest
I suppose this is a silly question...
but how was the hair?
