Duke Basketball Report says that the NCAA rule governing Coach K's contact of Alex Poythress is insufficiently explicit to result in a violation. A Sea of (a different shade of) Blue, however, views the contact as a clear cut violation that the NCAA will not be able to ignore.

It is not about having the NCAA's back (although you will find that Glenn DOES do that on more than one occasion)

Glenn is not quick to fault the NCAA, however in this case, the NCAA rule is fairly clear (which is unbelievable coming from me). Now, as to whether or not Coach K knew he was breaking a rule, that is not.

I'm not defending Duke or us or anyone else.

Just pointing out the fact that everytime a program gets in trouble or a violation gets reported ASOLOL puts up a fancy post exposing how guilty and corrupt said program really is and how the NCAA is gonna slam them.

I didnt mean to make is sound like you were, if I did please excuse....

But Glenn is pretty good about letting both sides of stories get posted on ASOB…..and he and Ken Howlett do not always agree concerning the NCAA…..Ken is much more along my line of thinking that they need to be drawn and quartered….lol

Glenn just refuses to take a “devils advocate” approach when he cannot see a logical reason…..of course we all know the NCAA is devoid of all logic, so there you go

I must step in and say in his defense

That his statement is fully supported by “subject matter”.

I’ll paraphrase his statement and say that he surmises it is likely that all of Slimy recruits that have become lottery picks will eventully be exposed for NCAA violations related to their recruitment by Slimy and/or their time at Kentucky being coached by Slimy.

He believes this because Slimy has cheated, and been caught, at every greasy stop he has made in his “illustrious” career so why should Kentucky be different?

Hence his statement.

However, that was not what was being discussed in the articles....

assuming (which usually leads everyone down the wrong path) that he was somewhat correct, which I cannot do, but for the purposes of this discussion I will entertain, that was not what was being discussed. He claimed that Glenn, myself, and the entire fanbase for UK were liars. That not only is false, it’s ludicrous.

But, fwiw, I don’t think he was talking about the articles with the first comment, just making a general statment about Kentucky and Slimy and how ASOLOL likes to degrade other programs while ignoring Slimy’s own history of rampant cheatery.

Nobody here I think is saying your support of Slimy is any worse than ours was of Kiffin. Just that you should expect to get hit with some violations sooner rather than later just as we did. Matter of fact, that comparision is very, very apt tbh.
