So pathetic and lame
Wow, I remember pledging for a frat at UT (that eventually got booted from campus)… I quit right before hell-week because I didn’t want to pay the $550 in dues that I owed (actually, my parents didn’t want to). Even though I love the Vols, looking back I would’ve gone to a college that is not Greek oriented. That system just promotes conformity and materialism. Maybe there’s some sort of benefit to going Greek, maybe I was just in the wrong frat, I don’t know. It’s a good way to meet people and get laid, sure, but the costs outweigh the benefits, imho.
It's completely different at smaller schools.

Meh I never felt overwhelmed by the Greek stuff
it is not as bad as places like ole miss or alabama. I had a great time as someone who stayed away from frats as much as possible
