ACC has approved addition of Pittsburgh, Syracuse By Kelly Whiteside, USA TODAY
According to this article it's a done deal. So the ACC has added two power basketball teams and two mediocre football teams.
Like it or not, agree or disagree, the 16 team superconference is on it's way.
The ACC is going for basketball and numbers. I've read that they have Rutgers and UCONN in their sites next.
I think it's time for the SEC to be proactive and instead of just adding A&M and maybe another they just bite the bullet and invite Mizzou and West Virginia.
I think they should also take a shot at TCU. One of the main reasons TCU was headed to the Big East was because PITT basketball coach Jamie Dixon is a TCU alum and convinced them to move to the Big East. Well their reason for joining the Big East is hot footing it to the ACC.
They'd be a positive add for the SEC, they'd give the SEC the Dallas/Ft. Worth tv market, and a 2nd foothold in the rich Texas recruiting base.
