to be completely fair to BYU
they were off consecutive games against Ole Miss, Texas, and Utah (rivalry game). Hard to get going there. We’ll see against Oregon State and TCU whether they have anything this year.

They've put together a good program there, amazingly.
Then again, you can put together a competitive team from the leavings of the other Florida schools, so there’s that. But their stadium is nice and surprisingly loud for a single-deck place. Crowd is right on top of the field and it does a decent job trapping sound.

K Davies has been utterly ineffective all year. Sturridge and Elmander left in the offseason. N’Gog has looked better than anybody else the last two weeks.
And it doesn’t help that the best two midfielders (Holden and Lee) have been injured.

well, I don't know that either of us are die-hards
but mine definitely wasn’t chosen arbitrarily. in that it’s not clear I chose at all. I just watched a lot of games and one day realized I was more emotionally invested in one team than any of the others (no surprise that it was the team led by my favorite USA player)

That’s one thing about listening to 90s broadcasts (Ward, etc.): they just tell you what’s happening. They don’t spend the whole game trying to prove they’re smarter than the coach.

I really think LSU might bust them up real good, real quick
they’re the best team to come into Morgantown in who knows how long, moment’s gonna get a little big for everybody in Morgantown. Meanwhile, this is like a sideshow for LSU. And great defenses usually have their way with good/great offenses, whatever you think of WVU right now

I can't help but feel like this is a bit of a tryout for WVU...
some folks in the SEC office are going to be watching this closely.
Road wins over decent-to-good teams are still functionally gold at this point.
LSU will have two of those with a win tonight, plus a neutral site win over a top-10 squad. That’s so tough to top; they pretty much have to lose at this point to get knocked out of the top spot, IMO.

Buffalo lost 17-3
but outgained UConn 319-293 and held them to 80 yards rushing on 42 carries. Missed a 28 yard field goal and threw an interception inside the five. Hmmmm…

CSU's been as spotty as Wyoming recently.
USU had a good year last year, so the optimism was understandable. Hopefully CSU is getting better, though. That was one of the better games when I was there.

my initial guess was more like -9
on the grounds that Texas is a few points better than Iowa (who was -7 in Ames) and that ISU’s profile has risen since then. But near 10 on either side wouldn’t shock me.
