We have a logjam all of a sudden. And behind Notre Dame of all teams. Who you got?
You know the drill. I turn in a final ballot in the morning. If you don't want it to be this, give me your thoughts and/or arguments.
1. Notre Dame
By themselves in group one despite the fact that they'd be underdogs to everyone in the top ten.
2. Alabama
3. Oregon
4. Kansas State
5. Florida State
6. Georgia
7. Florida
All the one-loss teams! I oppose spiking Kansas State on the grounds that they've done a lot of impressive things, and it's not like they're the only team with a blowout loss (Georgia) or bizarre loss (Florida State). We'll find out a lot this weekend about how FSU/Florida/Georgia should be ordered.
8. LSU
9. Texas A&M
10. Stanford
11. South Carolina
12. Oregon State
13. Oklahoma
14. UCLA
Two loss teams with decent wins! You can make an argument for A&M over LSU despite head-to-head because of common opponent of Alabama, but given that the head-to-head was in College Station, I lean Tigers. Stanford and South Carolina are just about a tossup in my mind. Stanford has a worse loss but a better win.
15. Clemson
16. Texas
17. Oklahoma State
18. Nebraska
These teams are all kinda okay, right?
19. Louisville
20. Utah State
21. Arizona
22. NIU
23. Michigan
24. Louisiana Tech
25. San Jose State
Consideration pile: Kent State, Rutgers, USC, Washington, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Ball State, Arkansas State, Wisconsin
Worth noting that the WAC has three teams in this ballot, which is more than the Big Ten (2), ACC (2), Big East (1), and Mountain West (0). I'm sure glad the MWC stole all the good teams from the WAC.
