We're shooting 83% from the field
And 100% from three and the line. On four and two shots, respectively. That will certainly cool, and I hope we’re not stuck on the perimeter when it happens.

Just as a baseline...
Pomeroy has us winning 71-66 at a 67% chance of victory.
The Hogs have the worst offensive rebounding, and FG defense in the conference during conference play. They are exceptionally good at defending the 3 and getting steals.
Good grief...
our defense is freaking amazing at maintaining assignments and switching off of screens.

I like these 20 point wins
Born in Fort Sanders - 1st Residence Aconda Court (Alumni Hall) - 1st games at Neyland 1947 - Mother = TORCHBEARER - Dad grad of UT & UT Law + professor BORN ORANGE and BLEED ORANGE .......
I like them better when they're actually 20 point wins
instead of 20 point games with a final margin of 75-70.
although any winning margin is nice once you’re in conference play

Gotta say, I'm getting this game on MSG via ESPN's Gameplan package
and their commercials are of ESPNU quality. There’s something called Endless Pool that throws a current at you while you swim “laps” in your backyard. My immediate question is, how many people will drown in it when turned up full blast and you can’t get out of the pool?
After Renaldo went wild with the 3's vs KY

I do think some of it is just the schedule, which speaks to our consistency since January
we just match up really well with Florida – the other three wins in this streak are us flexing our muscles against bad teams, which is what Arkansas is away from Fayetteville. Next two will be enlightening.
by Will Shelton on Feb 15, 2012 9:59 PM EST up reply actions
some of it is the schedule
but the loss in Athens shows that the ability to take control against bad teams wasn’t around as recently as mid-January. we started playing better in January, but we’re just now seeing the consistency

They definitely provide one heck of a list of teams to pull for...
http://www.rpiforecast.com/teams/Tennessee.html
Down at the bottom.
Most importantly, we need Florida to win every game they play
beyond that, any time an East team beats a West team that helps us because we played them twice. This means, unfortunately, we’re also more tied to Memphis’ fate than I’d like to be.

That number certainly hurts us right now
Don’t know to what extent everyone follows the various Bracketologies or Bubble Watches out there, but I think we were specifically mentioned 3 times as a “bad loss” for some team on the bubble in ESPN’s latest edition of Bubble Watch.
I like Tennessee and Vanderbilt. There aren't many like me, and they're probably better off for it.
It was actually 4 mentions
Once as a bad loss for UConn, once in the overall SEC section talking about Florida’s bad week, once in Florida’s entry talking about a bad loss, and once discussing how if Arkansas lost to us on Wednesday he’d take them off the board.
I like Tennessee and Vanderbilt. There aren't many like me, and they're probably better off for it.
and Arkansas only falls to #73...
clearly they are 33 spots better than us, otherwise we’d have won by 30
So Illinois fans are just about ready to fire Bruce Weber...
I bet they could get Bruce Pearl if they wanted.
;)

Someone explain this to me...
How can a team play Duke, Memphis*2, Pitt, and UConn… and only be #156 in OOC SOS?
Pitt and UConn aren't very good.

Our entire non-conference schedule didn't turn out well this year
Citadel is 4-21, Louisiana-Monroe is 2-23. That’s crushing us
by Will Shelton on Feb 15, 2012 10:42 PM EST up reply actions
I don't like how much the bottom pulls down your strength of schedule
is the difference between playing an RPI 190 and an RPI 330 really that extreme? SOS should be judged by the top 85% or something

suddenly really wishing RPI or BPI(?) was what everyone saw as so important
now that I see how different a 3-22 SoCon opponent is from an 8-19 OVC opponent. There’s no reason for that.
