Top Ole Miss. Pretty please. - Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports
There's a basketball game happening. This is where you talk about it.
January 9, 2013, 8 PM
Thompson-Boling Arena, Knoxville, TN
Ole Miss (11-2, 0-0) at Tennessee (8-4, 0-0)
TV: SEC Network (check local listings)
Internet TV: Whatever ESPN calls ESPN3 these days
Internet Audio: UTSPORTS.COM
I'm not Joel, so you don't get fancy logos and Jackson with his face painted or anything. But you can still talk about the game. It's a pretty important one, as the two likeliest candidates to head up the second tier of the SEC are squaring off head-to-head in the opener of conference play. Also, it's a rematch of the game that knocked Tennessee out of tournament contention in New Orleans last year. Yes, Ole Miss still has power inside. No, Tennessee doesn't. But Tennessee has other things. Like defense (usually). Mostly defense.
The Rebels have played just three road games this season, beating Hawai'i and Loyola Marymount but losing to Middle Tennessee State. Tennessee, as you know, is 6-1 at home, with the lone loss coming Friday to Memphis. Should be a good one.
