The men's team returns to the floor tonight at 7:00 PM ET on Fox Sports Net to take on our friends from Tennessee State. The Vols and Tigers actually haven't met in ten years; UT is 3-0 all time in the series.
It's been a rough 0-5 start for TSU to open a season which began at Hawaii, which is nice if you take out the 30 point beatdown. They also lost by double digits to New Mexico State, Western Michigan, and #16 Wichita State despite leading at halftime. They lost 75-70 to Lipscomb in their last outing. This team was 18-15 last year, bowing out in the first round of the CIT postseason tournament. This year they're currently 333rd nationally in scoring.
This is Tennessee's final tune-up before heading to the Bahamas for Thanksgiving, where the Vols will face UTEP on Thanksgiving night then either Iowa or Xavier again on Friday. The Vols had to come from 14 down to beat USC Upstate but cruised against The Citadel in an 86-60 win. Through three games Jordan McRae leads the Vols in scoring to no surprise, and Antonio Barton has been as good as advertised shooting the three ball, 7 of 12 on the young season.
It's your basic early season low-major story: get out front early, stay healthy, and go to the Bahamas on one you can feel good about. 7:00 PM ET tonight - if you're following along live, feel free to join us in the comments below.
