Since we did this four years ago, it's totally a tradition now and we have to do it again. A few of us (well, at least two) plan on watching what we can of the curling, despite the 3 AM starts and goofy NBC scheduling and Shuster's epic missed hero shots and whatnot.
So here's a quick rundown:
- So far, the US women's team lost 7-4 to Switzerland. After a good start, they had a couple of bad ends and just couldn't climb back in. It's not a terrible loss: Switzerland always ends up competing for the bronze.
- Meanwhile the men start play at (looks at watch) ... oh, hey just a few minutes from now. Shuster returns for his quadrennial Wikipedia page hacking as he opens up against Norway (one of the clear top three favorites for the whole event). Come for the crazy pants! Stay for the ... crazy pants.
- If you are lucky enough to watch, please post observations for those of us stuck in corporate no-stream land. This is decidedly not a spoiler-free zone. (And really, nowhere on the internet is spoiler-free.)
- (By the way, curling teams of both genders will provide plenty of eye candy this year, for those of you who need reason to watch.)
