Tennessee has landed among the top choices for one of the top prospects in the JUCO ranks. De’Jahn Warren, a four-star cornerback currently enrolled at Lackawanna Community College, trimmed his list to seven over the weekend. The Volunteers were joined by Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Maryland and Penn State.

Warren checks in at 6-0, 175 pounds. He’s received scholarship offers from more than 30 schools now. 247Sports lists Warren as the second overall JUCO prospect in the class and the top cornerback option in the ranks.
Warren announced recently that he plans on committing on December 14th. Tennessee was his first major scholarship offer, sending out their offer last December.
In his first season at Lackawanna, Warren put up and impressive five interceptions, which likely got him onto the national radar. He added 35 tackles and was credited with six pass breakups in his only season at the school.
With the JUCO football season in doubt and with the recruiting hold in place through the end of August, Warren has an uncertain and strange fall ahead of him.
For Tennessee, they could use the help at the position. They are faced with losing Baylen Buchanan next season and could potentially see Bryce Thompson explore opportunities in the NFL. There’s not much proven behind those two, and the Vols’ current 2021 class only holds one cornerback commitment to this point. I’d expect at least one of the last remaining spots in this class to be taken by a defensive back.
