Was watching Mike and Mike this morning, and low and behold, on the ESPN bottom line, it reads...
"Rico McCoy and Demonte Boldin are both suspended for the Outback Bowl because of Academic Ineligibiliy"

this is two starters off of our defense, and with the running game being wisconsin's strength this is gonna hurt...

This news always sucks to hear....

Good news?

While I'm certainly NOT going to bet against it, it's still a rumor at this point. At least according to the AP and it's anonomyous source.

The official academic report hasn't been issued, so there's no need to panic. Yet.

Well I figured if ESPN reported it, then it would be official, the same thing happened last year with Bret Smith, but maybe it will stay a rumor.

Demonte Bolden, Chris Donald, Ricardo Kemp, Rico McCoy, Kenny O'Neal, and Lucas Taylor are done for this season.

As if taken from our discussion last winter, Coach Fulmer hits it on the head:
"We have every resource available through our academic center for academic success by our athletes in all of our sports. In most of these cases, it was simply the student-athlete not being accountable and doing their work."

Spin it, I tell you

I probably sound like a broken record on this, but...

You can spin this to new recruits to show that there are more potential roster slots available. If these guys are ineligible now, they'll have trouble maintaining eligibility later. Tell the new kids that if they use the resources these guys failed to use properly, then they'll likely be on the starting list early and have more chance to make an impact.
